When we got to the hotel the tv and lights were all unplugged. The tv was old and it smelled outside the hotel. The staff was nice. Cheap stay

“Only 1 flaw, but it was huge”

We enjoyed our time at the hotel... until we noticed the large accumulation of mold in the shower. Easy to fix if you change the way the shower is cleaned. Overall the hotel was what I expected in that price range.

“A great place to stay and shop”

We were in Santa Cruz and drove to Gilroy Super 8 for the night because it was a great value for the money. The motel is located right next to the Gilroy Outlet Stores so the great shopping is a bonus. The breakfast could be a bit better, but it is just what they say. We will stay again next time we are in the area.

“Dirtiest Hotel I've ever stayed in”

The room had not been vacuumed in quite a while (popcorn kernels and dust balls next to baseboards). I was very scared to walk barefoot. Had not been dusted in months. The sink was super small and free standing and had no counter space at all. The bed and sheets were fine, but the dirt and grime made it a very uncomfortable stay.

“Just needed an inexpensive room...”

The best part had to be the front desk staff, they were polite and very friendly and helpful. The room was very clean (had to air it out beacuse it smelled like a bottle of cleaner) and I always bring along scented things when we travel so it took care of that. No noise complaints and Denny's is right across the parking lot so it made a late night meal and then falling into bed a piece of cake. The outlets are all around the property, so if you are in Gilroy to shop...this location is perfect. Price was a huge factor for us, and we will definately be back.

I've stayed at Super 8's before with no problem. Always a no frills but a clean and nice hotel. Not the case at the Gilroy location. Beds were as hard as a rock, the hard foam pillows had a plastic cover over them that crinkled all night, and towels were so rough they took the first layer of skin off when you dried yourself. The shower had mold around the tub and hair in the shower and bathroom floor, ugh! After trying to get the shower turned on I called the front desk, she tried to explain how it works but never offered to send up help. After more pulling and twisting if finally worked, it shouldn’t have been that hard. Will never stay there again. Oh, does someone care that the elevator permit expired a year ago?
