Girard is a great place to stay while you are in Erie as many of the city’s main attractions are nearby. Two attractions that should be at the top of every visitor’s itinerary is the fascinating Waldameer Water World and the much-loved Conneaut Community Center for the Arts. Two other great attractions that are close by Girard are Millcreek Mall and Lakeview Park.
To really understand Erie, take a trip to one of its many cultural destinations. There are many excellent destinations where you can spend an afternoon such as the Erie Maritime Museum and the Conneaut Railroad Museum in Conneaut.
Play, laugh and be thoroughly entertained at the areas attractions for the young and the young at heart, such as Splash Lagoon. Take pictures, walk past the many exhibits and learn about the variety of species at Erie Zoo.
If the sun is shining, do what the locals do and make the most of the nearby parks and reserves. Have a break in one of the parks and gardens, which include the Conneaut Township Park in Conneaut. Grab your camera and discover the ecological parks for which this area is famous, such as the Presque Isle State Park.
Erie has some noteworthy sights such as Bicentennial Tower. The Erie area features some evocative reminders of the past; don’t miss the State Road Covered Bridge in Kingsville, the Creek Road Covered Bridge in Conneaut and the Middle Road Covered Bridge.
