Very nice stay. Rochelle and Mike were extremely nice, friendly and helpful in giving us guidance to the area and sites to see. Also some wonderful suggestions to take scenic routes.

Good location for national parks

Posted Jul 11, 2015
I was staying in Las Vegas, so went I went to Zion NP one day, I wanted to stay overnight at some place closer to Bryce Canyon NP. This B&B is about 1 hour from Zion and 1 hour from Bryce Canyon. I came back to it after spending the day at Bryce Canyon, so I stayed there for 2 nights. It served my purposes well. The owners are cordial and knowledgeable about the area. The husband helped me plan an itinerary for my trip to Bryce Canyon that also took me through some other areas, such as the Dixie National Forest. Breakfast was at 8 a.m.; one day I was served a belgian waffle and the next I had french toast. There is an enclosed back porch which has a microwave and instant coffee is provided for those who can't wait until 8 for their first cup. There is also a small refrigerator there for guests' use. (You can ask the proprietor for ice cubes.) The room had a TV. The hotel was fine for me, but there are some points which might be deal breakers for others. (1) No air conditioning. My room had a ceiling fan and I cracked the windows at night. (2) Steep stairs going up to the 2d floor rooms. (3) Nearest restaurant is 9 miles away in Mt. Carmel. The Golden Hills--it was very good (has wifi). (4) The hotel has wifi, but it is extremely slow. (5) No cell phone service, but I found that to often be true throughout this region.

We have coffee ready at 7 Am for those that can not wait until breakfast at 8. Tea and coffee up stairs available at anytime. We are sorry that the restaurant next door had to close do to illness. The hotel does have a heat pump for cooling thru out the hotel, set at 70 deg. Building built in 1927 so it has some old quirks to her. Sorry.

Room was really stuffy.no air conditioning. The ceiling was really low and the fan was terribly slow.

Nice B&B

Posted Jun 25, 2015
Pros: Pleasing grounds. Nice rooms. Accommodating hostess. Great adjacent restaurant/ Bar. Plentiful and nicely presented breakfast.
Cons: Though plentiful, it would be nice to have a customized breakfast (to meet dietary restrictions like diabetic). Wifi dropped all the time...
Location: Good location, between Bryce and Zion National Parks. We enjoyed the food/ beer @ the restaurant/ bar next door.
The Smith B&B has pleasant rooms and relaxing grounds.

Adresse de charme

Posted Jun 19, 2015

Nice hotel in a small mountain town

Posted Jun 11, 2015
Pros: Cleanliness and historical significance
Location: Near both Zion and Bryce Canyon National Parks
This historic bed and breakfast was beautiful. The room was artfully decorated, bathroom was in good shape, and the breakfast was lovely (we had banana waffles, for example). It felt like a trip back in time staying at the Historic Smith Hotel and I recommend it to anyone.

Bed and Breakfast accueillant

Posted May 31, 2015

Super alternative to Kanab

Wonderful laid back place to stay. The owner/operators are genuine people that care about their guests. Cell phone and WIFI access are limited but who cares? We felt so at home and had a wonderful experience. Check out the hummingbirds!
