Cheap, dated but comfortable

Posted Jun 28, 2014
The building itself looks a little run down, but the rooms are very comfortable and everything was pretty functional. Appreciated the fridge and microwave. The hallways smelled like cigarettes all the time (stayed 3 nights), and we did spot someone in the hall smoking one, but it didn't seem to permeate into our room. Can't beat the rate or location. The breakfast was lacking but the area out back with grills and patio tables was cozy looking.

Hotel appears to be heavily used.

Cons: Quality of bathrooms, finishes, paint, service
Employees poorly trained, understaffed, lack of quality service. Don't waste your time asking for anything, they won't have it and can't be bothered. They are too busy watching tv or texting.

Better than the price might suggest!

Posted Jun 16, 2014
Pros: Located just a short drive from downtown Glenwood Springs. Can't beat the price!
Cons: It could do with a remodel and a comprehensive freshening-up.
Location: This motel is located just off Grand Ave, which is the main thoroughfare in Glenwood! Anything you want to do is a short drive away.
For an extremely inexpensive motel, I was surprised by the quality of the place! No bedspread in the room; just sheets and a fleece-y blanket, which I like (it means all the bedding is washed consistently). Lobby area smells of cigarette smoke; unless you're allergic, it's only a minor irritant. The overall look of the place suggests it hasn't been redone since the '80s, but for the price that's a minor consideration; it looked and felt dated and worn, rather than unpleasant. We didn't use any of the amenities or partake of the continental breakfast.

Affordable Inn Glenwood Springs Colorado

Posted Sep 25, 2013
Pros: It was conveniently located.
Cons: Maybe a room with a different view.
Location: There are several hot springs as well as restaurants and lounges.
It is true that I thought about going to a Best Western, Holiday Inn, or Marriott the whole time I was in this nice, sweet town. But there really was nothing to complain about. I had a good television set, a table for my laptop, two nice upright chairs, and a King size bed. In addition, I had a refrigerator, which is very helpful to somebody who feels the urge to eat and drink in between meals. The breakfast was great. Affordable Inn had every competitor beat when it came to biscuits and gravy. And I saved money. If this is a factor, then Affordable should be a consideration. Glenwood Springs has a number of hotels and motels to choose from. There is no lack of them, and most likely, they are also acceptable, if somewhat pricier. All I can say is that I slept well, had a healthy appetite, and really enjoyed being wedged in next to I-70 by two mountain ranges.

clean friendly hotel close to downtown Glenwood

The only thing that would have been better was a stronger internet connection and the hot tub working.

Good, basic, no frills hotel.

Pros: Front desk staff.
Cons: Walls are too thin. If inconsiderate guests are staying near you, you will hear their early morning conversations. That's not the staff's fault.
Location: We visited the Glenwood Hot Springs and played mini golf nearby the hotel.
Front desk staff was friendly and helpful recommending area restaurants. Basic room furniture, nothing fancy. We only stayed one night. I served our needs well.
