Facilities were substandard

Posted Jul 25, 2015
Pros: The staff was very helpful.
Cons: The facilities could be maintained.
The room was good and clean. The staff made evey effort to accomodate us. The breakfast was great. However, the building was in a state of disrepair and the pool and hot tub were not functioning and the whole recreation floor was falling apart. We were very disappointed because we were planning on a nice swim and hot tub for our aching muscles. We would not return.

Left a day early

Posted Jul 23, 2015
We left a day early because of the smell. It smelled like wet dog and smoke. I am aware this hotel takes pets but it was over whelming and is a no smoking hotel. The coffee pot in one room was missing parts and only had decaf coffee when asked at the front desk for regular coffee they said they were out. Would not stay here again. Very disappointed we had to call our trip short .

Lack of planning, understaffed

Posted Jul 20, 2015
Pros: Once we did get our room, it was nice, the hotel was quite for a first floor room. Room was clean when we finally received one - 2 hour wait
Cons: be prepared, fix the staffing issues, work on servicing your customers, educate staff that failure of one dept = hotel failure - stop pointing finger
Location: N/A
My wife and I were a part of over 150 motorcycles that were arriving at the hotel. Our reservation was there on the books, however the hotel was understaffed and no had no backup plan when some of their house keeping staff quite, walked off or was fired (I really don't know what the story is) but our room was not available for check-in for 2 hours. I was told that I would receive a call when it was ready which I did not receive as the hotel staff was too busy scrambling with staffing and cleaning issues. A real lack of planning for an event that had been in planning for several months prior to the weekend event. Several other riders had similar encounters, several riders were upset at the circumstances and I also witnessed several other riders cancel reservations and go to other hotels that afternoon. Poor planning, understaffed hotel, lot of finger pointing to other departments (when the weakest link fails, the whole system fails)... Not a pleasant experience

Badly maintained facility. Chipped tiles in the elevator, funky sink in br, rusting metal support s for ceiling tiles, no ventilation fan in bath, no place to enjoy the outdoors. Last time we will stay there.

Toxic pool

Posted Jul 18, 2015
We were on a family vacation driving through Glenwood Springs. We stopped for the night hoping for a nice stay. Those dreams were broken after one look at the pool. It was a yellow brown color with dogs running around. It was disgusting. We told management about it but they didn't seem to care. I would stay away at all costs!

Pros: Pet friendly Good breakfast Close to dining
Cons: The room that I was in seemed very average and old and a room with a fridge that is not cold may as well not have one. Ok for an overnight stay.
Location: Good location, close to restaurants.
I think that when I am asked to sign off on anything that I should get a copy.

OK hotel

Posted Jul 12, 2015
Pros: Closeness to the hot springs and downtown.
Cons: Remodel the room, especially the bathroom.
Location: Glenwood Springs pool, Hanging Lake, biking, hiking.
Liked the fact that it was in walking distance of the hot springs. Staff was great. Room needed to be upgraded. Bathroom floor grout was gritty and dirty. It looks like it will get some remodeling in the near future.

Nice, modern room but.....

Posted Jul 12, 2015
Our room needed a deep cleaning, you could tell that this room needed a good once over. The room was modern and comfortable but the rest of the hotel was run down. There are some smaller motels in GWS with more charm than this place...would NOT book another at the Ramada.
