Buyer Beware

Posted Dec 8, 2014
Pros: Suite was comfortable and included a kitchen area, fridge and high definition flat screen TVs. Room was clean.
Cons: Temperature in room needs to be adjustable (not just opening windows!). Decor is outdated. Photos show working fireplaces but we could not use ours.
Location: Glenwood Hot Springs are a 5 minute walk (caution - must cross busy intersection). 10 minute walk to the Amtrak station. Caverns close by.
Took my two young kids for a 2 day birthday trip via Amtrak from Denver. I wanted a larger room than a standard size so we would have space to spread out. The Ramada offered a reasonable price for a suite with 2 queen beds so close to the Glenwood hot springs. It also boasted one of the only indoor pools in Glenwood Springs - something that was important to the kids. I had read online reviews that mentioned that the hotel was under renovation but I figured we could handle some noise for a couple of days. When we arrived to check in there was a sign apologizing that the hot tub and pool were temporarily out of order. I spoke with the front desk person who apologized and told us that they were "waiting for a part to arrive via FedEx". He told us that it was due in the following day and would be immediately installed upon arrival. My kids were very disappointed but we checked in anyway hoping they would offer us some discount/credit (they did not). The following day (and the day after that when we checked out) the part had yet to arrive and the pool remained closed with no explanation. Bummer. The suite was relatively spacious and quite clean but unbelievably hot. Checked the thermostat and saw that it was on the lowest setting. So, the only way to adjust the temperature was to open both windows as wide as possible. Even then it was almost stifling. The free breakfast is decent and the kitchen/cleaning staff was friendly and helpful.

Nice hotel close to everything

Posted Nov 17, 2014
I was nervous after reading some negative reviews, but found none of the problems mentioned. The room was clean and comfortable. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The breakfast was great. I think either this hotel has new management or the negative reviewers are crazy. I would stay there again.

Not bad

The hotel was nice , the room was nice. I would stay there again but I would not eat breakfast there again. If you in a rush to eat then it's ok, the eggs tatsed funny to me , I dont think they were eggs. I'd go next store and eat at Village Inn.
