“Not Worth the Money”

I stayed at this hotel so that I could spend time with some family members who were in town for a special event. There were many people there for family reunions and other events. Therefore, I had to stay in a smoking room, and the smell was really horrible. The bathroom looked dated. This is a mediocre hotel experience. Even the continental breakfast could use some work. If you are looking for a more comfortable experience, spend a few dollars extra and stay at the Hampton Inn next door (same parking lot).

Area recommendations

Gloucester has really come up over the years. There are many stores and places to eat in the area. But if you are looking for a large mall, you must go to Hampton to visit the new village center near Coliseum Dr.

Getting there

If you are traveling from the Washington D.C. area, then the drive is really nice going Route 301 to Route 17 straight into Gloucester.

“BAD NEWS”

Overall, I would not recommend this hotel. The room had such a bad musty odor that we had to go out and buy Febreeze. Their was no shampoo available to us after the 1st day; we were there for 5 days. Hotel has been poorly cared for and is in need of sprucing up:(

Area recommendations

None. There is absolutely nothing to do in this area. The restaurants are few and food was not good, especially Nick's Steak and Spagetti!! Also, Bella's Pizza was really BAD!

“Great price, great hotel.”

Very courteous and competent staff. They were helpful and knowledgeable. The bed was very comfortable and the room was clean. Very nice breakfast, too. Definitely a great find.

“Clean but nothing fancy”

I was satisfied with my stay but feel that it was simply average and I paid top dollar. The rates were probably high due to a local festival. The next night I stayed in Richmond in a first-class facility for a similar price.
