good hotel but not 4 star ,more like 3 star.

Pros: The swimming facilities were very good and the staff at the pool were very helpful in general .
Cons: Fridge in the room price breakfast better better mattresses. provide gowns. Make sure family rooms are away from banquet halls.
We got a family room because we have 2 young children aged 8 and 11.However , the room was next to twin rooms which were occupied by golfers who were making noises late at night when returning to their rooms. In the morning the doors would slam shut making a loud noise on exit. There was also a wedding party which finished in the early hours of the morning -lots of noise .Should a banquet hall be next to family rooms or any rooms at all??? All of this meant we had poor sleep especially my wife for whom we had booked the hotel as it was her birthday. No fridgein the room. They should provide a fridge in the room if its a 4 star. I phoned prior to our arrival to ask if they would offer anything as it was my wifes birthday but the response was poor. The single bed and the double bed had very soft, worn mattress, thankfully we were only staying 2 nights!!!! The showers in the pool area were cold to warm at best.no shampoo in the showers. As a 4 star they should provide gowns to wear over the costumes especially as you had to walk through dining area back to your room. £10 per person for breakfast ..no reduction for children -a bit pricey....

Hotel in middle of housing estate

Posted Aug 21, 2014
The staff were mostly young didn't have a clue about service had to asking for our bottle of wine 3 times before it turned up didn't have a clue what we had ordered , breakfast they run out of food and it took ages for new items to be cooked. The 2 divans which made up the bed one was broken so lower than the other leaving a great ridge down middle. So all in all not to good😞

Nice staff, tired hotel.

Pros: Swimming pool and sport facilities though the swimming pool needs a better maintenance
Cons: Maybe if located somewhere else... I wish I stayed in Bristol instead.
Location: if you take a cab is £9 to the city centre, I believe there is a dry skiing facilities opposite to the car park but we did not go
You get what you pay, as we got a discount it was OK but not worth full prize. There is a residential development coming up so the surrounding area is visually compromised. Nice Swimming pool and gym (squash and tennis available) Attentive staff wich made the stay better but the building was not great

Nice Hotel

Good price for B&B. Clean room and restaurant was good too. Ample choice at breakfast, hot / cold food. Restaurant meals were a bit pricey, but good quality. Bar meals available. Room was excessively hot as towel warmer was on full blast and took several hours to cool after i turned off. WIFI signal not the best. Plenty of free parking. Did not use the leisure facilities, but looked ok to me.

No climate control and poor bar food.

Posted May 18, 2014 on Hotels.com
Never stayed here before and after my experience I will not be staying again. Two things stand out, lack of air conditioning in the room (it mentions the rooms have climate control but this consisted of a thermostat controlled radiator and a window! There was a fan in the cupboard but this is not climate control and although the night was just about bearable I would hate to think what it would be like in the height of summer. There was also no safe in the room although the room description mentioned there was although I didn't need one. Both these negative points could have been avoided by having a correct description or if not all the rooms have been upgraded, point this out. The other thing that made the stay poor was the poor meal from the bar menu. Staying for business I wanted to be in and out and the adjacent restaurant /price hinted at good food but I was wrong. I had the meatball tagliatelle and it tasted like it had been microwaved. I can't comment on the restaurant but the breakfast in the morning was nice albeit without decent ketchup and brown sauce. Unfortunately too many hotels scrimp on condiments which spoils a decent cooked breakfast - am I being fussy, probably but you can't beat Heinz ketchup and HP sauce with a full English!

Weekend break

Posted May 12, 2014
Pros: Generally good.
Cons: Restaurant facilities, especially lounge area
Location: Gloucester/Cheltenham near by.
Nice hotel, pleasant and helpful staff. Unfortunately the hotel is now in the middle of a building site. We were there on a bank holiday weekend so the building site was not working. It appears the adjoining land and previous hotel facilities will be under development for several months.

you need your own transport

Posted May 12, 2014
Pros: big comfy bed
Cons: changing rooms
Location: not near much. golf course opposite also walking in the hills if you can figure footpath over golf course. otherwise you need to drive.
queued to check in and out (10 mins). mostly friendly helpful staff. pool area good, but changing rooms not so great. queen size bed, room appeared recently refurbished. could here the music from disco/event, also you could hear most noises from the other rooms. choice at breakfast not bad, you have to ask for pot of tea or go up and down for every cup. slow to clear tables and replenish stock. nice walk nearby if you can figure the footpath through the golf course. overall a good stay.
