“gloucester.the city that never sleeps!”

fantastic olde worlde charm,central location,rooms nice enough but given front facing room that was impossible to get any sleep in. fair enough i am quite a light sleeper but my wife who could sleep through an air raid also got no sleep. secondary glazing was useless against this onslaught !late night revelry expected as this is a city location but marks and spencer opposite were unloading at 4.45 am and the local street sweeper must have been on a christmas bonus.maybe if we had been given a courtyard facing room things would have been different as the hotel,gloucester and surroundings were all very nice but after getting an early night due to a long drive in a new vehicle in the morning we had to rely on the wonders of caffeine to get home due to the noise!
