On arrival (5.55pm), the place seemed empty - apart from two dogs inside, who announced my presence to the chap who was inside. The room was clean, bed was comfy-enough. No hand-soap, or shower gel, but there was shampoo. I had been directed to the tea/coffee items in the wardrobe, but I didn't use the kettle until later - when I discovered (having tipped the existing water away) that the kettle can't be filled from the washbasin (kettle will not fit under the tap). In the wardrobe was a bottle, which I then used to transfer water to the kettle, but this then creates a pool of water on the shower room floor.
The pub wasn't open in the evening (Monday), so no food (nothing on the website). I went for a walk and found a restaurant, but would have preferred to eat 'In-House'. It didn't seem to be open in the morning, either? There's a 'key-drop box' at the bottom of the stairs. Breakfast wasn't mentioned - even though their website says, "Guests staying at the pub tell us our breakfasts are second to none". To be fair; I didn't ask - by this point I'd already expected to be disappointed.
My summary would be this - communication/explanation/information in the room would be useful. Just an A4 sheet that most hotels provide with 'basic information'. I don't think I saw fire evacuation details, either? Some simple changes could encourage me to stay again.
