Not greatPosted Nov 21, 2013 on Hotels.com
The hotel was comfortable enough and the staff perfectly pleasant but it really needs re-furbing from top to toe. Decor theme is mainly oranges and greens with wildly patterned carpets. My room had rather odd industrial type lagging on some of pipework leading to he raditor, some of which was hanging off. The wardrobe rickety with a small array of odd hangers. The windows in the bathroom in need of a goof overhaul. For a night I could survive. I was gald I wasn't staying any longer though, it just doesn't feel lkea nice place to be. The breakfast topped it off really. Just poorly presented. Cornflakes or Coco Pops the only cereal choice, presented in tired, mis-matching tupperware containers. A basket of individual marmalades, again, weirdly stuck on the windowsill, not on the main table, the only thing available to put on your toast. A re-think on the presentation side badly needed.

The hotel Fawlty Towers was based onPosted Oct 29, 2013
Pros: Being right next to the railway station it was dead easy to find and it was also cheap.
Cons: Some basic maintenance for starters. And if it's not worthwhile for them to offer food after 6 pm then they should say so.
Location: Gloucester is great for holidays. But don't recommend walking round at night - some very strange characters about.
Lots of little things made staying in this hotel a real comedy experience. Doors that wouldn't close unless you kicked them, a restaurant that was advertised as open until 8 pm but was usually closed by 6 o'clock, waiters who brought food you never ordered and exposed electrical wiring in the bathroom. Stay away Friday and Saturday nights as you will get no sleep. There's a shocking noise from rock bands playing in the pub below.

Good value hotel close to city centrePosted Oct 26, 2013
We had a large bright room with windows on two sides and in good decorative order. The twin beds were very comfortable. There was a modern large screen television and a four socket extension lead. Breakfast consisted of a choice of two cereals, orange juice, toast and a cooked breakfast with sausage, fried egg, baked beans and tomato. We were able to leave our case while we spent the day exploring Gloucester.

Far more pleasant and comfortable than it looksPosted Sep 13, 2013 on Hotels.com
The hotel was very convenient for my two night stay, as I was traveling in and around Gloucester, and it was located right next to the train and bus stations. Although the room was a bit tatty, everything worked perfectly, and the bed was comfortable. Staying on the rail station side was far preferable to being on the side facing the road, and was relatively quiet. Bathroom was clean and the shower worked very well. Breakfast was a good standard English. Hotel staff were very friendly and helpful, and fixed the lock on my door immediately when the key would not turn it.

Two very hot nights in GloucesterPosted Jul 21, 2013 on Hotels.com
The Station Hotel is a very old hotel it's not what most of us would classify as a hotel today and would be better described as a B&B over a pub. Check in is at the bar and the breakfast room is off the main bar. Our room was right at the top of the building on the second floor up an old creaky staircase but this is very much in charactor with the place. Unfortunately our room looked out on to a very busy road which didn't quieten down until around midnight. But let's be honest the room would have been comfortable had it not been for the excessive summer heat and the staff were friendly and helpful. if you want a basic budget price hotel/b&B then this will duit you fine. i'd certainly stay there agin.

Kind ownerPosted Jul 12, 2013 on Hotels.com
My stay was good, I arrived very late and the owner kindly opened up for me, even though they had locked their doors. Will definitely stay there if I have to visit Gloucester again.
