“Very impressive hotel in a lovely location!!!”

This is a very impressive hotel set in lovely location. Very clean and tidy, secure, hotel staff are very friendly and always happy to help. There are a few different restaurants at this hotel. I would definitely recommend eating at the outdoor BBQ restaurant next to the beach although very pricey. An average meal for 2 would cost around 4500rupees for a couple + drinks on top (around 6000rupees for 1 you evening meal!!!). The beach is a bit of a disappointment. The water is murky and pebbly, not much to do or see on the beach. This resort is a relaxation place!!!

“Hotel Review”

The Hotel was very good. The Airport transfers was also arranged properly. Overall we had a very good experience. I suggest you should contact the hotel via Email or Telephone if you want to get your Airport Pick-up arranged on time.

“Call Ahead”

When we arrived at the Goa airport there was no one there from Cidade de Goa to pick us up. The airport tourist helper called them and they said they could pick us up but it would be in 1 1/2 hours. We had to pay Rs 500 for taxi. We complained to the manager but he continued to say it wasn't their fault over and over. They never did apologize. Poor customer service! Our room was a little noisy but it was in a great location and had a beautiful view. We liked the restaurants especially the nicer one (forget the name) and the prepaid taxi's out front. The pool was beautiful and clean. Overall, we did have a nice time at the hotel.

“Fantastic Resort”

We stayed at the Cidade de Goa for 1 week and loved every minute of it. The hotel is great, there is a good choice of food and it is reasonably proced for a 5* resort. Would definitely recommend this hotel.

Becareful at the Casino, it is careless about paying winners and cashing out correctly. Otherwise we had a great time.

“High-quality full-service resort but slow service at the restaurants”

Cidade de Goa is located on one of the few "private" beaches in the capital city of Panaji. There was a complimentary airport shuttle (takes about 30-40 minutes). The hote is really a full-service resort - which has its advantages and disadvantages. You can spend all your time at Cidade and never leave to see Goa itself. The pool and beach are definite highlights. It's private, quiet, and relaxing to lay out without concern for being disturbed by peddlers All the restaurants you likely will need (nice breakfast buffet, local cuisine, continental) are on-site, and they have a very nice spa facility as well. The main problem we encountered was the extremely slow service at the restaurants. It was as if there was no interest on the part of the servers to take our order, deliver us food within a reasonable time frame (often took 30+ minutes for a sandwich), or bring the bill. This could be interepreted as a "relaxed" approach - but became frustrating when it just appeared as laziness or unprofessional. Apart from that we had a great visit. The treatments at the Ayurvedic Spa are top-notch at a reasonable price. The food itself was pretty good quality (clean, tasty) - but you definitely pay higher prices for the convenience and quality. If you want to save money then stay at a "public" hotel and visit the local restaurants. If you want a full-service resort-like atmosphere (they have "theme nights" and sports on the beach) - then Cidade is very nice.

“A bargain if Goa's your destination”

Reserved a garden room. Had the hotel move us immediately bcause the room was over the staff parking lot. New room was overlooking tennis courts. Figured that would be okay because people would stop playing at 9 PM. Unfortunately, there was a construction site on the other side of courts. At 9:30 I called about the hammering and was told the construction would go on all night. When I threatened checking out, the management moved us immediately to a quiet suite of rooms on the other side of the hotel; looking out over the ocean. At no extra charge to us, it was a deal. The food was fine and the pool lovely, but the beach leaves alot to be desired. No white sand here. It's really a package hotel with lots of corporate groups. I must say though management was very accomodating.

“Good Location but needs urgent renovation”

I used it as a business hotel. Location was good. Staff was very helpful and friendly. The hotel needs to spend some serious money to renovate the rooms.

“Hotel Dated - Needs Modernization”

Cidade de Goa has perhaps the best location in Goa with superb staff who cannot do enough for you. Pity the hotel is very dated and could do with modernizing the rooms, bathrooms and all the furniture. Reception area could be a little cosier. It is definitely not a five star. I would rate it at 3 star only. Comfortable but very old fashioned.
