“Would Recommend”

The hotel was quite cute and very clean. I would definitely recommend it to a friend... The beach was a 5 to 7 minute walk from the hotel (which was our only destination on our quick 2 day stay before heading to Kerala). The hotel was very clean and comfortable, and if anything went wrong, the staff was quick to help out. The complimentary breakfast was ok.

“A oasis in crazy India”

When you travel in India: things can be crazy, and loud and dirty: It was nice when I saw Lemon tree it was safe clean and cozy: I really enjoyed my stay: I traveled over Christmas and the staff even put a christmas stocking in my room: and i liked how they all wore santa hats; it made me chuckle everytime seeing them. The location was perfect Noodle resturant was very yummy!!! Beach was a short walk away and they had a pool, spa, bar and room service Overall hotel was really nice experience. Only Bad side: front desk staff didnt really know about any tours or activities to do around town. No brochures or pamplet availible and staff seemed uninterested in finding out . Otherwise they were Great. I would stay at this hotel again if ever in area.

Area recommendations
The Weds bazaar is a crazy loud noisy place: has lots of neat gifts and tshirts and dresses really everything: A must do Beach is nice but water murky: get a lounge chair or hammock and people watch all day long, while listening to the waves of the ocean

“A dash of delightful lemon in Goa.”

We absolutely loved the decor and layout of the resort, the rooms and the restaurants. The pool was clean and the fresh lemongrass fragrance when you enter the rooms is just brilliant, inviting. Definitely recommend this resort for its locale, convenience as to the left of the gate just a KM down, there are department stores, shops, you name it, it is there. The food is well suited to the western palates, which was a tad bit disappointing for us Indians. The internet access was quick, access to beach and bikes were easy and the cleaning crew did their job well. The only downside in our room was the lack of a bathtub, but we did not feel its absence with a beautiful shower area in the bath. On the whole, a great place to stay and definitely recommend it to all.

Area recommendations
Anjuna, Vagator, Baga, Candolim, Miramar and then Candolim beach in that order. The first three are quite popular for the average western tourist and caters to all their needs with lovely beaches, stores and nick-nacks that fancy all age-groups. IF time permits a visit to Panjim and Mapusa city will also provide a close look at Portuguese style architecture that still can be seen.
When to go
if you love the rains, the monsoon is really green and wet, with rooms being offered at half the price. However, the ideal time is from November to February, till about the time the famous Goa Carnival marks the advent of lent.
Getting around
The best way is to hire a scooter/scooterette, with the deposit of an ID card. These shops are all over Goa and fuel/gas is sold by shops and individuals as the gas stations are few and far flung from the beaches. Driving it on the left-side, but there are no lane markings on the inner roads so foreigners are quite comfortable taking these nifty vehicles from one beach to another or just touring the local areas.
Shopping
The beaches of Goa are dotted with plenty of shacks selling lots of stuff. But you have to bargain, bargain and bargain. Almost all of them are very alert to foreign currency and charge exorbitantly knowing on conversion the costs are not too much. So it is entirely up to you to figure out how much the stuff is worth. The flea market in Anjuna is a big attraction. It is once a week, but am not sure what day it is on.
Dining
Goa provides am amazing repertoire of food. Though it is becoming increasingly hard to find authentic Goan specialties, if one does, it is usually prepared by a non-goan that leads to a bit of a overly bland taste or overly salty. But road-side shacks provide great tasting food from all corners of the world. Seafood is usually the main item, but you can find chicken, beef lamb and pork.

“Pretty, pretty, pretty, pretty good.”

For a 3 and 1/2 star place it is very good. Plenty of services/facilities, helpful staff, good breakfast buffet, great location. Nice place. No problems at all.

“Great swimming pool, good location”

The hotel's location was good, right in the middle of town with many restaurants, shops, grocery stores easy to walk to. The swimming pool was great, the best feature of the hotel. The room's furniture was not functional, sort of odd. The single size beds were tiny, apt for children, certainly not for adults. The bathroom was good as was the water pressure in the shower. The breakfast buffet was good but not great. The staff (at the Front desk, breakfast room and housekeeping) was very helpful and always ready to assist. The access to internet was limited at certain hours (not working early in the mornings). The rate was reasonable even though for the category of this hotel, it should be free of cost. Overall a good experience but not a great one.

“First stay in India and I had a great time”

The amarante hotel is a great hotel with one of the most georgous pool I have ever seen. The staff is friendly and forthcoming. Me and my wife had a great stay. The only downfall is that it is a bit pricy compare to other hotels in the area. If you are a business traveler do expect to pay $13 a day for internet access, when it is available. We had a few days where it was not available.

Traveler's tip
There are plenty of shopping around the hotel. You must barter to get a good price. Usually the price offered is at least twice as much as the real price.
