Costly and Breathtaking AffairPosted Mar 9, 2013 on Hotels.com
I booked this hotel based on the location suggested by website as "5 mins walkable distance" from Calangute Beach. Beach is nowhere walkable in 5 mins. I booked a Suite Room and the Staff made us to wait for 30 mins to provide us the room on 3rd floor and the Hotel building dint have a lift facility. We were literally out of breath every time we came back to our room added to the walk from Beach to the Hotel. The Hotel management dint bother to provide us the coupons for complimentary breakfast untill we asked. Over all the Hotel was only Big on Name.

A good experiencePosted Feb 2, 2013 on Hotels.com
The rooms are spacious and with an attached balcony. The service was quite OK and the food is not expensive. It is close to the beach and commands a good view. OK for its price.

New Year HotelPosted Jan 8, 2013
Pros: excellent location
Cons: could do with some paint
Location: ideally located between Calangute centre and Candolim, and set back from the main road.
The hotel looked a little tatty when we arrived, but the staff and service made us forget the odd slight blemish and we were treated well throughout our stay. The hotel is located a short walk away from Calangute beach road and set back from the main road which made it much quieter than properties we had previously stayed in. This was a welcome change as our stay took place during Sunburn and New Year which both filled the streets with revellers. the pool bar and food were always excellent and the staff were courteous and polite. the pool area is really quiet during the day which was also a pleasant change.

Not that badPosted Jan 30, 2012
Cons: Room was not cleaned everyday
Location: as mentioned in earlier reviews, its not at all walking from beach. its around 30 mins of walking
It was good, but could have been better. saw lots of bad reviews, but its not that bad, Room service is a bit slow, we did not get blankets on the first day, instead we git extra bedsheets, next ay we got only 1 blanket. while we were moving out, we got soaps.

Nizmar, the unfriendly hotelPosted Jan 5, 2012 on Hotels.com
If one were to award the most un-friendly staff awards; Nizmar Resort, Goa will top the list. It simply amazed me at the cold and un-cooperative behaviour of staff. Right from the front desk, to the room service. The room service out rightly refuses to get you food in the room; even if you were to ask for milk for a child, let alone a cup of tea. They refuse to give you fresh towels; instead they give you pool-side towels. I had to speak to the manager for regular white-cotton towels! And then they did not change towels in our 4 day stay at the property. One can clearly see differential treatment for the white skin guests and the Indian guests - which is the usual standard in Goa. There was a compulsory pay for the new-year's night of INR 2500 per guest; irrespective if you eat there or not. The worst part the staff had no clue who had paid and who hadn't during the dinner on 31st. Hence they kept asking everyone when and whom you paid etc...which indeed was putting off. In short, Nizmar is a classic case of how a decent property can go wrong with pathetic people working for it. If Hotels.com is listening; please take this off your list coz its not worth the time and money of people who wanna go for an easy vacation at Goa. cheers
