Everything was good, but good to have a queen bed instead of 2 double bed and good to have avacado toast and pancake as there were no other option for vegetarians.

Beautiful property and great staff. Walked into town and explored on our own. Our only complaint was that the only option for dinner was at the retreat, which did not have much variety for vegans/vegetarians and was generally just ok.

Sanak Retreat is such a special place. From the moment you arrive you are surrounded by natural beauty ... both from the natural environment and from the impeccable staff. The property has only 11 rooms so truly is a boutique hotel. It’s so peaceful. The spa is fantastic. We opted for multiple treatments during our stay. Our stay was a welcomed rest from the chaos (and traffic) of southern Bali. We will definitely return.

What an amazing hotel! Not only are the rooms, facilities and staff great - they are also doing wonderful things for the local community around them. The food at the restaurant was delicious (especially the local market fish) and breakfast was the best we've had in Bali (including the coffee). If you want a relaxing retreat surrounded by nature then this is the place. The perfect location for recharging your batteries. I would also recommend the hike to the water fall and seeing some of the local villages - was a great day and tour guide was excellent. Thank you Sanak for such a great few days!

Eco-Tourism with the comfort!
Sanak Retreat is definitely somewhere you should check out and stay! It is eco-tourism at its finest where the local community benefits from part ownership and employment. There are great day activities such as trekking or village visits also. And the spa is AMAZING (and quite reasonably priced-the staff are also so kind there). The rooms are a different experience and I would highly recommend this place.

Perfect for relaxation, photography & rural Bali
Beautiful location amongst rice paddies; one of the most photogenic places I've ever stayed. We came after the rice had just been harvested so may not have been at its prettiest but was still very special, particularly the view over rice paddies and distant hills at sunset. Daily 'events' (Balinese dance class for local school children, kite-flying...) added to the feeling that Sanak really is a 'family' and part of the community. The decor in the rooms was stunning, although, if being picky, the lighting was a little dim. Food and drinks were pricey compared to elsewhere in Bali, and I felt the quality didn't always reflect the price, but perhaps the prices are reflective of the retreat's remote location. The mocktails, however, were a stand-out - very inventive combinations. Try them all! We did one tour - a walk through the forest and canoe trip across the lake. The guides were fantastic - very informative and friendly - and overall the tour felt very personal and special.

It was our honey moon trip in Bali tour... And this hotel was fantastic. Room 103 is superb and with amazing view. Try spa. Yoga. Meet Wanwan in the spa. Amazing food... Enjoy:)

Retour sur expérience
Le personnel est très serviable et professionnel avec cependant des grosses lacunes en anglais mais a toujours su satisfaire nos demandes. Le Spa est très bien avec un excellent massage, je remercie énormément la masseuse qui a réalisé le meilleur massage de tout mon séjour. Pas de ATM autour. En résumé, très bien pour un séjour calme loin de tout en pleine nature.

“Fanget” i flotte omgivelser.
Fantastiske omgivelser som er helt unikt! Ens værelse skal man selvfølgelig være obs på at man er ude i naturen, men er rigtig fine. Vi havde et godt ophold. Dog blev der taget overpriser for mad, transport og andet som hotellet havde. Der var ikke sammenhæng mellem pris og kvalitet. Man følte lidt at nu var man fanget ude på landet, og så blev prisen skruet op. Vi havde en god overnatning men lidt snydt.

Un lieu propice à la détente, très confortable avec une vue sur les rizières magnifique. Nous avons logé dans la villa 3 chambres avec piscine en famille et c’était extraordinaire. Une petite pépite à Bali hors des sentiers battus !

Fabuleux. Logé en villa individuelle type Balinais avec une décoration soignée et recherchée. Service parfait . J'ai pu faire un massage avec une demande au pied levé. Le restaurant donnant sur la piscine donne sur les rizières, vue fantastique avec en prime le coucher de soleil.

L'albergo è immerso in un contesto fiabesco, l'ideale per rilassarsi e godersi un po' di tranquillità. Ogni dettaglio è curato alla perfezione, il panorama mozzafiato e il personale estremamente disponibile, forse anche eccessivamente, la ragazza dell'accoglienza ha ostentato toni cordiali e sorrisi melensi che non ci hanno messo sempre a nostro agio. Ad ogni modo questa è solo una nostra impressione, la struttura merita il costo dei servizi offerti, abbiamo usufruito anche della ristorazione, decisamente buona, e della spa situata in una struttura dedicata. Unica pecca: i tour opzionali organizzati dall'albergo. Ne abbiamo prenotati due, piacevoli ma più costosi rispetto agli standard locali e la guida che, in realtà, altro non è che un driver, non ci ha accompagnato nei siti d'interesse ma esclusivamente svolto un ruolo di autista.

Endroit enchanteur pour une parenthèse relaxante au milieu des rizières ! Vue imprenable depuis la terrasse du restaurant sur la fabuleuse piscine et les montagnes en arrière plan. Chambre décoré avec beaucoup de goût et Sommeil garanti ! Un véritable "Retreat" de la vie occidentale !

ソフト面とプールが良かった
部屋：四方向すべて床までの窓になっていて、通風を考えているようだが、実は湿気がひどく、網戸がないので虫が入ってくる。天井に扇風機がついているだけで、クーラーはないが、暑くはなかった。 浴槽はなく、シャワーだけだったが、換気扇がないため、熱気や湯気が全て部屋に流れ込んでますます湿気ることに。 洗面所は、カッコイイが使いにくいと思った。 タオル掛けや荷物を広げる台がなく、部屋は全体的に使い勝手より見た目重視だと思う。 入口はテラスになっていて大きなソファーが置いてある。周囲は湿原のような作りなので、蛙の鳴き声や水音が心地よい。天井には扇風機が取り付けてある。 一番高い部屋を見せてもらった。全体の雰囲気や豪華さは同じで、部屋数が多くなっている。ちょっとしたパーティーなら開けそうな感じ。 レストラン：とても美味しく、料金も良心的だと思った。ヴィラとプールを見渡せるよう、少し高い場所に作られていて、ゆったりとした気持ちで食事ができる。風が気持ちよい。 スパ：技術は一般的だが、今までで一番丁寧で心がこもっていると感じた。 プール：湧き水を使っているとのことで、とても澄んでいて気持ちよい。深さもあるので少し冷たく感じる。タイルは自慢の手張りだそうで、押さえた色彩が美しい。 全体敷地：主に木道を通って移動する。すべてが一軒家の作りで、それぞれは湿原に植えられた植物で見えないようになっているようで、実は見えるので、着替えの時は注意が必要。スーツケースを転がすのはとても大変。 スタッフ：フランス人マネージャーを中心にして、「ヴィラ愛」に満ち溢れてやる気満々。チームワークが取れていて見ていて気持ちよく、アットホームな雰囲気。客室が少ないためもあると思うが、すべての客を把握してサービスしているという印象があった。とても気さくでくつろげる。この点は、他の気になるところを充分カバーして、再訪したいと思わせる。 周辺：散策してみたが、店らしきものはない。田園風景が広がり、地元の人が気さくに挨拶してくる。車も殆ど通っておらず、ノンビリしている。涼しい風が吹き渡り気持ちのよい環境。

Natürliches, idyllisches und faszinierendes Bali
Nachdem weder unser Taxi aus Ubud, noch die vorangegangen Hotels diese Gegend als Urlaubsgegend ausweisen konnten, wurde uns auf der Fahrt ins Ungewisse etwas mulmig. Endlich das Hotelschild im Blick, wurden wir eines Besseren belehrt: atemberaubende Aussicht, wundervolles landschaftliches Panorama, ein herzlicher Empfang inklusive frischer Kokosnuss und eine wunderschöne Anlage bestehend aus einzelnen Holzbungalows. Wer hier Action und Party erwartet ist absolut fehl am Platz! Entspannung pur, tolle Wandermöglichkeiten (auf Wunsch auch geführt) und ein herzliches Aufeinandertreffen mit aufgeschlossenen Dorfbewohnern erwartet einen hier. Einziger Wermutstropfen: aufgrund der abgeschiedenen Lage ist man sehr stark auf die zwar absolut empfehlenswerte, allerdings auch nicht ganz günstige Verpflegung des Hotels angewiesen. Wir haben durch dieses Hotel ein ganz anderes Bali entdecken dürfen und mit Hilfe der angebotenen SPA Behandlungen so richtig entspannen können. Wir würden jederzeit gerne wieder in diesem Hotel zu Gast sein wollen.
