Ordinary hotel near the beach and shops. Indeed!Posted Dec 29, 2014
Pros: The proximity to both the beach and the main shopping area of Surfers was excellent. In fact, it's the only saving grace of our stay, to be frank.
Cons: The interior of the entire hotel and the friendliness and competence of staff (one of whom tried to enter our room, not realising it was occupied).
Location: The beach, obviously, is fantastic and the many shops, cafes and restaurants down around Cavill were good. There are so many things to do on the GC.
We arrived at the hotel just prior to 10pm and were surprised to find the reception area unattended and the main doors closed. Nowhere in the booking process was there a mention about having to check in prior to 5pm on a Sunday so this came as a surprise. A phone number was listed near the door for out-of-hours callouts, with a notice advising that a charge of $100 dollars would be incurred. I rang the number and, pleasingly, the operator was extremely friendly and proceeded to look up my booking before providing me with the access code for the safe to retrieve our room key. Apparently I wouldn't be charged after all, but the operator took my credit card details for security anyway. Inside the lobby, the fixtures and fittings looked more akin to the type found in a hostel or lower-ranked hotel and the lift, with its scratched graffiti doors gave the impression of a hotel that either attracted a lower guest standard or the owners simply didn't care about presentation. Our room lock was clunky, difficult and the door didn't sit well on its hinges. Once inside, it was quickly evident that we would not be directly facing the ocean as hoped, but we still had a portion of ocean to view. Even more disappointing was probably the stuffiness of the room, the hideously old doors and windows and the awful beds which were not comfortable at all. Trying to leave was impossible - only one lift was working and we waited for over 20 minutes to get off our floor with our luggage!

Very good hotel, value for money. The rooms had just been renovated. There were 2 lifts but 1 of them was on outage snd made the waiting time for taking lift increase considerably during rush hours. Hotel it will resume to normal soon.

Walking distance for all my needs.Posted Dec 17, 2014
Pros: As per title & the pool.
Cons: I am no interior designer but just cosmetic changes to get rid of the worn out look of lifts, general areas & spa.
Location: Great for shops, beach & general walking around. The new tram station is right out the back door.
Arrived early for check-in. Checked & people still in the room so fixed up the paperwork & went out for the day. They said they would ring when then room was ready which they did. The hotel old but still OK for just somewhere to sleep. The restaurant is only open for breakfast, which I didn't go to & I didn't see the pool bar open but with so many options nearby it is understandable. Had undercover parking no problems but I could see that being a problem in peak time as there is on one level. Did however see some open parking area at the back. Only one lift in operation & even with the hotel not full it was quicker to walk down the steps from the 7th floor with all my gear than wait.

Muitos bons restaurantes e supermercados. A minha surpresa foi que tive de deixar um depósito de 200 dolares no check in e que a internet somente disponível se for paga. Mas o quarto é grande e cama é confortável, o banheiro é ótimo.

Not bad for a overnight stay!Posted Oct 21, 2014 on Hotels.com
Stayed one night in this hotel over the weekend. Hotel is old but the room we had was renovated and comfortable. It had air con and all the mod cons you need for a short stay including flat screen TV, few foxtel channels, bathroom with shower and large balcony overlooking the ocean. Staff were not too helpful on check-in, very monotone, although the lovely gentleman on check out was very helpful and gave us directions to the airport!
