Very well located, this is a magical, welcoming spot in the middle of the south-western island. The facilities are excellent and the manager (Anias, spelling?) was particularly engaging and accommodating towards us. Situated 18km outside Selfoss, this place is sufficiently close to civilization but well located to create the effect of being in the countryside. Although self-catering, the rooms are warm and clean, and its even possible to book houses with personal hot-spots! The cottages were definitely a highlight for us during our visit to Iceland.

This is one of the best hotels we stayed on our holidays in Iceland. It is close to the Geysir and some volcanos, it is also close to the valley where tectonic plates meet and it is just a very lovely and beautiful place.
It has amazing rooms with extremely comfortable beds, very professional staff who make you feel in a really luxury hotel, the room for breakfast is sooo beautiful we stayed there for more than 2 hours and the food is delicious.
We want to go back and stay in this hotel again.

I had previously visited Iceland three times, but I had never travelled in the South of the country. I chose Selfoss as my "jumping off" point because of its location on the Ring Road (Highway #1). Fosstun apartments are clean and roomy. It was a nice location to return to in the evening.

Had the place to ourselves, so we didn't have to share the bathroom. We enjoyed sitting on the veranda at 2.00 am looking for the Northern Lights (no luck). Beautiful full moon and it was so peaceful.
The bedroom was lovely with a huge comfy bed.
Bathroom equally lovely with under floor heating.
Breakfast delicious especially the lava baked bread.

Loved being in the country not the city and found it convenient to access a lot of the drivable sights in west and southern Iceland. Very clean and quiet, comfy and soft cotton sheets and clouds for pillows. Loved the spacious apartment, easy showers and ability to dry hand washing on safe radiant heaters in the rooms.
Terrific views of midnight sun on ice-covered Hecla out the window from Room 204.
Came late the first day (didn't understand it was two hours from the airport when booking) so came without food and found only a tiny grocery store open nearby. I suggest buying food along the way since options once there are limited.
Staff were extremely available and helpful, loved the spacious room and pastoral landscape.
Took some photos but don't see any place to post them here...inside is much nicer than the outside of the buildings suggest (as seems to be the case in all of what we saw in Iceland).

Stayed one night in a room for 3. Room was spacious and beds comfortable. Also had a bath in the bathroom as well as a shower. Excellent swimming pool and hot tub outside. Breakfast was poor so recommend finding a local bakery instead.

We stayed for two weeks in October. We were surprised to find most people only staying one or two nights. We found it a good base for exploring - but a car was essential. There is so much to see and do in Iceland - a beautiful country.
The hotel worked well - comfortable room, good breakfast, free wifi, lovely spa. We didn't try the restaurant which was expensive - and there were other good options nearby.
We were lucky to get a north-facing room - facing the river with the mountain opposite and (on a couple of nights) the northern lights visible despite the street lights.
