Ok for budget accommodationPosted Jul 20, 2014
We booked this as it was within our budget. When we pulled up to check in it looked like it had shut down, no life at all. Checked in and the staff were very friendly. Room was average condition although had everything you needed. Coffee machine was dirty but everything else was reasonably clean. Walls were thin so heard people outside during the night and also the pipes were extremely noisy on the other rooms showers. Could also hear footsteps from above. Breakfast was basic, only brown bread and no tea. Overall was fine for one night but I would probably not stay again.

Golden trip.Posted Mar 30, 2014
Pros: Staff was excellent.
Cons: The breakfast left a lot to be desired, which is why we chose a different hotel upon our return. I also did not like the hot tub in lobby.
Location: Location was excellent, right as soon as you enter Golden.
Pretty nice hotel, a lot newer-looking than it actually is!!

A quick quiet stopPosted Mar 16, 2014
Easy access from the highway, but quiet at night. Close to restaurants.

on our way to VictoriaPosted Jan 7, 2014
Pros: See above, the owners were great good location
Cons: update rooms would be nice, but I have stayed in worse for higher price with worse service so the rooms to me are not an issue
Location: it was a stop over, but it was close to all necessary food outlets
we came from Saskatoon Saskatchewan and we were tired after driving all day since 3 am, the owner was very friendly and acceptable of our 4 dogs. She directed us to an area to let our dogs run, she was a dog owner also, she also did not charge us for the dogs staying in the room, either she forgot but I would like to think she was just a dog lover at heart. The hotel was quiet, close to places to eat the dogs loved the area, couldn't let them off their leash didn't trust they wouldn't run, but they enjoyed what freedom they had. As the night came a few more people showed up, but still quiet, woke up in the morning and bang there were trucks with sleds every where, but did not here them pull up during the night. Left in the morning early to get on the road, a little disappointed in the breakfast but didn't have time to stop and eat. The gentleman was nice that checked us out, I enquired about reserving a room for Jan 2 but he looked and said call me we shouldn't be to busy. When I called to book later not a problem, then we were stranded in Salmon Arms because of avalanche so I called and told them we couldn't make it, it was definitely not 24 hrs notice more like 2 hrs, they were fine with it and understood. Overall great people and wonderful place. Better than the last place we stayed at in Golden a couple years ago I strongly recommend it.

A good #1 stopover experience.Posted Oct 12, 2013
Pros: Available when we needed it. We knew from previous visits to Golden that this Super 8 would serve our needs well and see us in our way in the morning.
Cons: Can't really think of any at the price we payed.
Location: Golden is an interesting with lots of lots of natural things to see, and do but our main use is a stopover on #1 E or W but for us heading S on #95.
We have been here before passing through Golden and probably will be more as long as we pass this way which is usually when we are on our way to Radium Hot springs. In most ways it is a typical BC motel in appointments and services provided. The staff from sign in to departure were friendly, ready to assist with luggage and other requests. The breakfasts of course was adequate and good and saved a lot of time to continue our journey. A motel is still a motel and don't vary that much and this is a good one and as opportunity affords we will be back.

Nice hotel and easy to get to.Posted Aug 20, 2013
Pros: The hotel was in a good central location.
Cons: We really did not enjoy the choices for the breakfast so we went somewhere else to eat. We would have liked to have had waffles and eggs.
Location: It was easy to access from the highway. One was able to get anywhere without any problems driving.
The room was good. There was a handicap parking stall outside our room that we could NOT use as the other people took up half the stall as they could not park right. That was the main downfall. Smokers seemed to smoke anywhere outside even at our open window. We are non smokers with health issues.

late check inPosted Aug 18, 2013
We were happy with the service from the front desk staff, as we were late in arriving. Arrangements were made for us to check in without difficulty. The extra work by Trina was much appreciated

Fine place to crash for a night.Posted Aug 13, 2013
Our room was a little dirty...the carpet wasn’t well vacuumed, and there was some hair in the bathtub that was not ours. We were only there to sleep for the night, so it wasn’t a huge deal. Wouldn’t want to stay for longer than a night. Breakfast was an option of toast/cereal/coffee/muffins.

Not bad motelPosted Aug 10, 2013
Good place for overnight. Just plain motel, nothing special. The hottub is not bad, but small.
