Lovely hotel en route to Calais

Posted Aug 30, 2014
Pros: We ate in the Brasserie and had the set menu which was typically French and absolutely delicious, first class!
Cons: Nothing we could fault.
Location: The surrounding area was surrounded by woodland. We did not explore as we had an early start next morning for the ferry at Calais.
We have stayed in this are on several occasions on the way back to Calais. This hotel sits in a beautiful location surrounded by woodland. Staff were very welcoming and helpful.

Great discovery

Posted Aug 13, 2014
Pros: Location, convenience and style !
Cons: A few bigger multi bedded rooms to facilitate small school groups on Western front trips.
Location: Ideal location for Western front and an hour from Calais crossings so very convenient for stopovers just in France.
A real discovery this. Located in the heart of the Western Front for exploring WW1 sites. Hotel is in old farm location with extensive gardens , classy restaurant and even connected Chateau hotel which is superb . Next time I will take the ancient parents and let them stay in the Chateau and family in the BW ! Staying next to a farm means a healthy early morning wake up call from the local cockerels but the hotel thoughtfully provides ear plugs if you prefer not to enjoy the dawn chorus. One real important feature is the really decent proper shower head with good water pressure.

Peaceful location

Posted Aug 12, 2014
Pros: At the rear of the hotel there is a large walled garden, you name it and they grow it from veg to fruit. You can walk around and enjoy it.
Location: Location a bit out of the way but worth a stop over, and it's only 50 miles from the Calais ferry, nice town nearby with good family restaurants.
Staff very friendly, my French is not up to scratch so it was a pleasant when the receptionist spoke perfect English.

Nice location.

Pros: The shower & the garden.
Cons: Probably needs a lick of paint if you're fussy. Better pillows as well.
Had a pleasant one night stay. Room overlooked the farm which was not a problem for us at all. Had enjoyable meal sitting outside restaurant, nice atmosphere and very good food and wine. Didn't have breakfast.

Enjoyed our stay and liked the idea of three restaurants choices. Air con was a bit loud in our room though.

Out of the way gem

Very comfortable and reasonable size room as standard. Good VFM; all the usual bathroom goodies, plus safe and mini bar, plentiful free parking. Excellent restaurant facilities - 3 within the complex. The village of Gosnay is a bit bleak, but we intended to drive to Bethune anyway.

Good location for trip to/from Chunnel.

Posted Sep 10, 2013
Pros: Safe on site parking.
Cons: The pillows are rock hard! Please get some softer, feather or feather-like pillows like most other quality hotels have these days!
Very pleasant hotel with a choice of restaurants on site. Easy to find, only a few minutes off toll road from/to Calais.
