“Very Convenient -- Very Clean”

This hotel was very convenient to Central Station and the City Center of Goteborg (although initially difficult to locate). The staff was extremely friendly and helpful. The room itself was a bit tight for two guests with four bags, but after rearrangin a chair was comfortable. The hotel entrance is only a few meters from the rails leading into Central Station which had us concerned about noise levels at night; however, the staff offered us the option of a room on that side or on the side fronting their "backyard." We opted for the latter, which allowed us a view of the rear of a bulding and the parking lot below. However, we were not bothered by noise. A complementary breakfast and free in-room wireless connections were nice additions. Would definitely return and stay at this hotel.

“Impressed”

1).The receptionists were courteous and very helpful as I was visiting from the USA and traveling on my own. 2) The breakfasts were very good, had a varied assortment of food and drink 3) Bed and pillows were comfortable 4) However one thing I found lacking was having only one bath towel. It would have been nice to have a second. 5) The showers were good but I would have liked to have seen some soap for use not only the liquid especially for the shower. Thanks

It is a small and friendly hotel located some 5 minutes away from the city centre. Wide good quality selection offered for the complimentary breakfast. There are two restaurants and a bowling club nearby. Perfect for a romatic holiday in Northern Europe. I would go back anytime (and I probably will soon).

“Great Breakfast”

This place was clean, efficient, near the train station, with a friendly staff and a truly fantastic breakfast. For a business traveler looking for a decent-priced place who doesn't need to be near the more picturesque part of town, it was great.

“Recommended”

The staff are the best I have encountered in any budget hotel I have visited. Always cheerful knowledgeable and helpful with good English. My economy room clean and well fitted albeit small might be considered too small for 2 people. As mentioned in other reports the breakfast is very good. The only problem was actually finding the hotel even though I had a plan of the location. In the end we parked our car and found it on foot. I gathered that we were not the only one to have this problem. Having said this it is well located for city centre, trains and bus station. I will seek out Rica hotels in the future If you have half an hour to spare go to the large square sit under the trees and watch the trams. I had no interest in trams but found the various vintages and sizes weaving in and out often on apparent collision courses facinating !

“Groovy elevator”

The hotel was an easy walk from the train station, but a bit hard to find as it fronts onto a street that runs along the tracks. I thought that might be a noise issue, but it wasn't at all. The room was small, but cozy and clean. It was easy to walk to the sights of the city making it a very nice base. The breakfast was excellent, and they were happy to store our luggage so that we could enjoy the city before our flight unencumberd by bags.

“Comfortable hotel, great location”

This hotel was nice with a great location next to the train station. The breakfast buffet was good and the staff was very friendly and helpful. The train station was a bit noisy in the early part of the night, but it ended before we went to bed.

“Good vacation base”

Hotel was conveniently located for walking to the main attractions in Gothenburg and the central train station. Standard European room size.

“Convenient for the centre and the Station”

Stayed here between Christmas & New Year 2008. I would rate the hotel as a 2/3 star but showing it's age a little. The staff were good with excellent English, (hasn't everyone in Scandinavia?). The lift is quaint with no door on the inside, so you can touch each floor as it goes past. The rooms were adequate, although for some reason the bed had been ste at an angle which made access to one side awkward. The shower was OK but not a lot of volume. Our friends had a room on the 6th floor facing the railway tracks and didn't complain about any noise, but then he is a trainspotter. By far the best part of this hotel was the breakfasts. All you could want includinglocal sausage, herring, rice pudding, meatballs and some of the best crispy bacon I've ever had. Tea, coffee, milk, orange juice and biscuits well available all day in the lobby. It was very easy to get into town and there is a supermarket on the corner nearby. Not the best but value for money
