“Wonderful Stay”
The Buenaventura Hotel was spotless, safe and quiet. It's a beautiful hotel. Only several blocks from the Beach strand, and nightlife, it's located on it's own cul-de-and had no street noise; an important point for me. A full breakfast was part of my package and it could not have been better. Friendly staff. A short walk to the Cabash Centre and truly not much further to Yumbo Centre (good exercise, day or night). Hotel has an internet room and fun entertainment nightly near the pool. There is a SPAR supermarket close by to bring snacks etc. back to the room. Check out the Irish bars 2 blocks away. The airport bus stop is also just 2 blocks from the hotel; better than cabbing it.
“Never slept better :D”
GO :) and enjoy! we will go back for sure :)
“It was very good will recommend to friend”
IFA Buenaventura hotel so good will recommend
“very nice, but I wish I knew some things ahead of time”
We stayed in Buenaventura for 5 days with my two kids (9 and 13 y.o.). For three of us the room was big enough, because we didn't need to unfold the couch. For 4 people we would have to unfold the couch - it would probably be a bit small. We booked a half-board option, i.e. breakfast and dinner. Things to know: at dinner you HAVE to buy beverages. They won't even serve you water for free, so bring your money. And they are not very cheap - bottle of water 2 Eu, same for juices, etc. At breakfast, however - all the same drinks are free, plus tea and coffee. Food is very good in terms of variety of fruit and vegetables available. Good fish dishes and seafood. For the room: the blankets are very thin and so are the pillows. If you get cold easily you might as well ask for extra right away ( provided very quickly). (We stayed there in March - it was not exactly hot.) There is NO shampoo or conditioner or any kind of lotion provided in your bathroom. You can by it all in the little store downstairs - totally overpriced, of course. Or walk a couple of blocks to the nearest supermarket and get it a bit cheaper. One nice thing which was unexpected to me: after we checked out in the morning we were offered to store our luggage and a 30 min access to one of the rooms so we could shower and change before going to the airport in the evening. It is part for their hospitality routine and it made a big difference for our long trip home.
“Nice place to stay”
After reading lots of reviews about the hotel, we expected a tourist resort with all the pros/cons thereof, and that was exactly what we got. We ate breakfast at the hotel, which was nice, if a bit of an operation to get so many people fed in such a short time. There was always fresh fruit, which was the best part. We didn't have dinner at the hotel, as there are many nice restaurants just around the corner. We loved the happy hour (cheapest place to drink that we could find), and found the kiddie disco (right outside our window), to be entertaining, but clearly that would eventually drain on a person's nerves (the chicken dance was only funny the first four nights, anymore than that and we would have gone crazy). Fortunately, we spent our nights out and about and so it wasn't a problem for us to be by the "loud pool." The room was large, if the beds a bit uncomfortable (the pillows extremely thin and economical). The saving of the sun loungers was the most annoying thing--people got up at 6am to put their towels out, despite posted signs saying that it wasn't allowed to save the loungers. There was a nice park away from the pools that was very quiet that we could usually still find a place to lie out. Overall, we both really liked our stay, especially the most helpful man at the reception desk who recommended a beautiful out-of-the-way Spanish restaurant for dinner on the first night.
“A Good Quality Hotel”
The IFA Buenaventura is located at the north of Playa del Ingles but only about a 15 minute walk to the beach. Restaurants and bars are 5-10 mins walk away or you can pretty much go anywhere in the town by taxi for 3 euros. The hotel is very big and mainly dutch and germans stay there. The hotel itself is clean, our room was big and clean and the pool areas are well maintained. Staff are friendly and there is entertainment on Friday and Saturday nights, which is actually quite good. Breakfast is buffet style and there is a good selection but would suggest going down after 10am to beat the crowds. Would recommend this hotel.
“Great hotel, great location in Gran Canaria”
We had no idea where to stay at Gran Canaria and were very happy with Hotel Buenaventura! This is a review coming from a couple taking a vacation together, age 24. The hotel is about 45 mins from airport. 5 minute walk to Playa Del Ingles beach. 2 huge pools with an "entertainment team," happy hour and plenty going on. Free shows each night performed on-site. Disco Ozono club is also located at the hotel and is a great time. The rooms- spacious with balconies. Two downsides were that the bed was uncomfortable (could feel the springs- not the greatest quality) and the hotel is near a couple of bars that are very loud until 3 in the morning. I used ear plugs. However, the room was really clean and the property was nice and staff were helpful and kind. Overall, compared to other hotels in the area, Buenaventura was the best. We saw lots of hotels on our walk to the beach and the quality and amenities (especially pool) were not up to par with Buenaventura. And the free breakfast was great! Walkable to several supermercados, shopping, plenty of restaurants. You're a 5 minute walk from the heart of Playa del Ingles- can't be beat!
“Spacious accommodation”
Large, busy hotel popular with Germans and basically very good value. Room very large for the price with separate seating area and a large balcony. Quite a distance to reception from the room I stayed in but no problem if you need to walk off a few pounds! Enjoyed my stay here
“Fantastic time”
We had a fantastic time, the staff was very helpful and friendly, the food was great and the members of the animation team-even though at times they can be irritating by insisting you take part in all these games- they made us laugh and kept us entertained!! The only thing we did not like was towels "sunbathing" on empty sunbeds! It seemed that a large portion of the German guests primarily would put a towel on sunbeds first thing in the morning to make sure they had access to the sunniest spot.
“New Year 2011/2012 stay”
Spent New Year at this hotel. Stayed on a bed and breakfast basis, which was good. Breakfasts were plentiful and you could go all day until dinner out after helping yourself to the buffet style breakfasts. Room was large and had double bed with seating area, TV, desk and balcony seating overlooking gardens. When we arrived the door key entry system did not work for our room, however the staff let us in and replaced the door system the following day. Room was cleaned daily (with the exception of one day, where our room was overlooked due to a misunderstanding) with fresh towels given daily. Did not use the pool facilities as close to beach (5-10 mins walk). Sun-beds by pool were 'reserved' early by residents placing towels out, which was against hotel policy, but seemed to be allowed. Hotel lifts were temperamental and only two working out of 4. Long walk (approx 10 mins) to get to our room - especially to get back to reception when we coud get into the room on day one. All in all a pleasing hotel, close enough to beach, yet far enough away from too much noise at night from nightlife - however note- road leading up to hotel is frequented by loud annoying women 'touting for business' if you walk back late at night!
