Ideal base for touring the city of Granada

Posted Oct 8, 2014
Pros: Central location, good price, very helpful and friendly staff. Car park under the hotel was a very convenient
Cons: A kettle and tea-making facilities would be useful
Location: In the centre of town, near shops, bars, churches and river promenade. Visit the Alhambra and use the City Tour hop-on-hop-off mini-train
Our party of 3 adults enjoyed a charming stay at the Hotel Dauro, while we visited the Alhambra Palace and toured the city of Granada. The staff spoke excellent English, were very helpful and efficient in acquiring tickets, and advised us about where we could dine locally. The rooms were spacious and comfortable. The hotel's underground car-park was very convenient and secure, though rather pricey

helpful staff close to town

Pros: The staff were friendly and spoke good english
we had a great stay here. What was really pleasing was the windows in the rooms were double glazed and sealed so the noise from the street could not be heard.

VISIT GRANADA AND STAY AT THE HOTEL DAURO

Posted Jul 31, 2014
Pros: Excellent value for money
Cons: Nothing I can think of.
Location: The walk to the Alhambra Palace was approximately 20-30mins. We chose to walk up the first day but took the tourist train the following day!
The directions provided to the hotel were excellent and took us seamlessly through city traffic straight to the hotel door. The hotel staff were friendly and pleasant at check-in and parked our car for us in their underground parking area. The location of the hotel was perfect (right next door to El Corte Ingles(a department store!) and only a short stroll to the city centre. Our room was very clean and comfortable. A buffet breakfast on each morning was excellent (we stayed 2 nights). All-in-all The Hotel Dauro exceeded our expectations and WHEN we visit Granada again we will definitely be staying at the Hotel Dauro.

Short stay in Granada

Posted Jul 30, 2014
Pros: Nice room with a beautiful bathroom, helpful and friendly staff, walking distance from the city centre, reasonable price
Cons: Nothing really
Excellent place to stay if you don't mind walking 5 minutes to the city centre. Nice room with a view over a church, spacious bathroom with a bathtub, which is so much better than a shower cabin after walking around the beautiful city of Granada. Very friendly and helpful staff, their English is not very good but they know enough to understand and help those like me, who do not speak Spanish. The location is not the best if you mind walking and if the only purpose of your visit is to see the Alhambra but if you are ok to walk additional 5 minutes, it's a perfect place. And if you like fresh meringues, near the hotel you'll find the best cakes i've tried in Spain (huge meringue towers over tiny cookies). Saw them only there, was looking for them everywhere afterwards but couldn't find niether in Seville, nor in Madrid or Barcelona. Cross the street in front of the hotel and go right towards the city centre, probably in a minute or 2 you'll see them in a window of a bakery on your left. If you are a meringue lover you won't miss them :-)

Good location with great staff

Posted Jun 11, 2014
Pros: Great staff, superb breakfast. Very convenient location.
Cons: Decoration is looking tired.
This hotel is on a very busy road and despite double-glazing it is quite noisy. The furnishings are a little tired but the chill-out zone behind reception is a commendable attempt to move forward.

Convenient Location

The Dauro is an excellent smallish hotel. The bus from the airport as well as the city public buses stop right in front of the hotel. It is also within walking distance (thought not a short walk) to the main Tourist Information Center. It does have parking but you do not need a car in Granada. I felt safe walking alone night and day on the nearby city streets. The friendly and helpful hotel staff, is however, the major draw to this clean, well run, and comfortable hotel.
