Wonderful Character

This is the biggest asset of this hotel. We stayed for 2 nights - we enjoyed the unique and historic architecture, the nooks and crannies. This extended to our room itself which had a quirky layout. The room and bed was comfortable and we had a great view of the Alhambra. The bathroom was well appointed and spotlessly clean. It was a cold snap in Granada but we managed to stay cosy, but if you are in room 11 you need ear-plugs as the heating pipes make a lot of noise. Otherwise this is a quiet hotel in a good location to sightsee the Albaicin and of course the Alhambra. We did not breakfast at the hotel.

Disappointing hotel, don't agree with trip advisor

Pros: Location and staff
Cons: Hard mattress, smell from the river and breakfast area
Location: Excellent location in old town Granada but Internet access was very bad.
Though the staff were very friendly and helpful we found that the hotel was not that comfortable as the ones we had stayed at in Seville and Cordoba. Matresses are very hard!!!Location is excellent. Our room had an awful smell which was actually from the river outside the window, it kept me awake all night. The staff were gracious enough to upgrade us to a better room but I am wondering what would have happened if the hotel had been fully booked! The breakfast area needs to be worked on as it looks like a cafeteria. The front of the hotel had a terrible water leak, it was raining very hard.

Not the best value for money!

Pros: the lobby is beautiful
Cons: the room and the bed
Location: perfect - walking distance to Plaza Nueva
The hotel is not accessible by car! The gps shows it is (Garmin with 2011 maps), but don't even try to make it there. I think the website should at least mention it in some section, if not the welcome email to note the guest about it. Moreover, the room is much smaller than appears on pics - and lacks window! We booked a room for 4 adults. and got semi-loft room with fold out sofa 1.6m long supposed to be double bed.The window was at second floor level with blinds not accessible to open... However, the bathroom was the size of the room itself and neatly cleaned a nice surprise till we saw the towels - only one being in "as new" condition. Overall, not the best value for money one can find.
