“Awesome hotel!”

I loved this place! It is centrally located and we were able to get around the city easily from the hotel. The staff was friendly and helpful. However, the best part was the building itself. It was well maintained and very, very beautiful inside and out. I really enjoyed my stay here and of all the European hotels I have stayed in this was my favorite.

“Superb place to stay”

Excellent former monastery, off the beaten track a little, but still perfectly placed for the Alhambra and other sights. The airport bus stops more or less outside too. Great gardens, stunning views, just a superb place to stay.

“Great location: great value”

Reading previous reviews really helped our decision to book here. If you can live without cable TV & a mini-bar, this place is a real find. Everywhere is pretty much walkable from the quiet, riverside location. Our room on the 3rd floor was stylishly minimalist, air-conditioned and surprisly spacious. Staff were discreet, courteous and extremely helpful. [We didn't try the restaurant- there are too many places to eat locally!]

“Very quaint and quite comfortable”

I loved it...cheap, quaint and comfortable. its not stylish, but I like the monastery feel.

“Granada Holiday”

We were enthralled with the Macia M. Basilios. The location was great. We walked the river paths, walked to the business area, and the bus to Alhambra picked us up at the door. On entering the hotel, we were met by a hoard of young school students. We didn't realize that a school was hooked onto the hotel. My cousin and I were teachers so the children lent a fun atmosphere to the hotel. The rooms are sparse, but clean. The price was right. What else would a traveller want.

“Must Stay Hotel in Granada”

This hotel is part of an old church-convent-monastery with a central courtyard enclosed in glass and moorish arabic tiles on floors and walls - fantastic. The front part o the accommodation is actually a church-basillica and is used every Sunday as such. The accommodation is very comfortable and clean and the showers etc all work. Staff are very friendly and helpful and you are able to leave baggage there after check-out in a secure lock up. We would certainly return there again.

“A nice inexpensive room”

It's not top of the line, but the rooms are nice and the breakfast is excellent (a bit expensive though). It's a bit hard to find since it has a small sign. It is right next to a school so don't plan to sleep in on school days.

Great family kind of place to stay in the hearth of Granada. Very pleasing well restored monastery, clean & comfortable.

“Lovely and friendly and not too far from the action”

The moment I arrived I felt lucky to have booked this hotel. The lobby is beautiful, covered in ornate tiles around a inner courtyard blooming with fruit trees, and so it presents an immediate experience of the interweaving of Moorish and Christian histery in Granada. The hotel staff was all friendly and helpful, they speak adequent English. Another reviewer mentioned the noise of the playground next door. The hotel must have addressed this problem because although I could look out over a perpetual soccor game (with the Sierra mountains in the distance), once the window was closed I heard nothing. It isn't though a luxury hotel, but the room was clean, comfortable and ad well worth the price. It is only a short ten minute walk to the Center of town.

“Most impressed with all aspects of this hotel.”

Very clean and comfortable. When the key to our room didn't seem to work, staff were very helpful in providing a swift solution to the problem. The only negative aspect was that our room overlooked a floodlit football pitch and a noisy game continued until midnight on one occasion. Also, when showering, the bath was very slippy which could have given rise to an accident. The soaprack was coming away from the wall; possible evidence that someone had grabbed it in desperation to prevent themselves from falling.
