The hotel staff was very friendly. On our second night when we got back to the hotel we noticed that there was a leak in the ceiling of our bathroom. The floor was wet from the leak and the leak was right above our toilet, so we couldn't use it. The guy working at the front desk made a phone call and then came up and gave us another room right across from our original room. He was very friendly and accommodating. The beds were comfortable and the internet was fast. They did not have a safe in the room we were staying in, and they also did not have a secured room to store our luggage in the next day after we had checked out. Aside from that, everything was good.

good, safe hotel for a woman travelling alonePosted Apr 15, 2013
Pros: Easy walking distance from everywhere. Clean, spacious and modern.
Cons: Front facing rooms are very noisy, above and beyond what is the norm for a city hotel.
Location: Very good - easy walking distance to the shopping region around the cathedral and to the Albaicin old town.
A good value for money hotel in a central location, within walking distance of everywhere. I felt safe on my own there and the room was very clean and modern. The walk into town was fine at night and there were people around until late and so I did not feel at any risk. The bus goes from right outside the front door up to the Alhambra. I would advise those booking this hotel to request a room away from the front of the hotel - I was initially in a single room overlooking an Irish pub that was incredibly noisy until the early hours. All of the single rooms are front facing and so I upgraded to a double room for a small additional amount - I would suggest anyone going on their own should do the same as the second room was great- spacious and very quiet. The breakfast is very minimal and so it is not worth paying the extra for it (although it was only about 3 euros per day) - there is an excellent bakery opposite (called pan y chocolate). Overall, I thought this was a very good hotel in a beautiful city and I would return again.
I'd stay at another hotelPosted Sep 14, 2012 on Hotels.com
We were excited to stay at this hip looking hotel but we were disappointed from the get go. First of all the under ground parking is impossible it took my bf over 20 mins to park the car and it took me 20 mins to get the car out the next day. The room was sparse and missing two light bulbs we asked the fron desk to replace them and they told they would the next day. We were checking out in the morning. There is only four lamps so the room was pretty dark. We ask for a map to show us where everything was and front desk girl barely knew where things where. After spending a day walking around I could show her the town Granda. The best thing about this hotel is the location and the bar next door!

Rooms smell very strangePosted Dec 2, 2010
Though this is a fairly good location for access to popular sights, the rooms in this hotel have a very strange smell. It may be a cleaning product they use, but the first room we were given did not have a window opening to the outdoors, so the smell was intolerable and we had to switch rooms. The second room had a window that opened above a bar that got very noisy late at night, but at least we could open the window during the day to air it out

Odd but nicePosted Nov 4, 2010 on Hotels.com
This is a nice hotel in a good location for the price. It's a little odd when you first get there, as the decor is something to see. However, the staff is very nice and the room was clean and comfortable.

We had a wonderful 3 nights at the Hotel Shalma, it was even better than the pictures on the Web Site. Of all the Hotels we have stayed at on this trip this was the cleanest brightest and most comfortable. The staff were very friendly and helpful. We had had a problem initially with our no refund booking, our mistake, and they not only made the alteration for us but upgraded us when we arrived. The location is prefect for visiting the Alhambra with a little Red Bus stop at the front door to take you there every 10 minutes. And of course the Alhambra is fabulous.

Well placed hotelPosted Oct 17, 2010
Good hotel, well placed, only a short walk from most of the sites. The hotel has a small amount of it's own parking, but you need a *small* car. Otherwise they have a discount rate at a car park 30 seconds drive away. Be warned though, that this can fill up. Drivers also note that there are a number of signs in Granada saying no entry (camera enforced) unless staying in a hotel. Apparently if you give your registration number to the hotel you won't get fined.

Great location and service at a very good price!Posted Oct 7, 2010 on Hotels.com
Nice little hotel in the centre of Granada, fairy easy to find if you are preapared with driving directions. Receptionist was very nice and spoke good English. We check in early at 12pm. Room was spacious enough, not huge but not tiny. We didn't get a room with outside view which was a shame but I don't think that many rooms get an outside view in this location. It is a very modern hotel so if you don't like plastic fantastic deco and bright colours then book elswhere. Minibar in the room, TV with English news channel, free WiFi in the room, nice modern bathroom, hairdryer, make-up mirror. Service is very efficient and fast. I asked for iron and board and had it in the room just as I put the phone down. I would definitely give it 3*+ mark. We didn't have breakfast there so can't comment on it. All in all very good experience.
