“Fabulous guesthouse hotel in great area”

Santa Isabel la Real was a 2008 finalist for the best guesthouse in Europe, and whatever beat it must have been amazing! We simply loved our 3 nights in this beautiful, friendly and brilliantly located establishment. There are excellent restaurants all around it (try the home cooked moroccan food 30 meters up the road), the bus to the Alhambra stops 5 meters from the door, and the Albaycin district is fabulous to wander through. The double bed was very small for a modern hotel (so taller or larger people might want to book a twin), but the rooms are 17th century size so that is understandable. Even so, the firm but comfortable mattress made it a pleasure to sleep in it. The furnishings, mostly antiques, were delightful, as were the free liqueurs and chocolates in the lounge. Our superior room overlooked the street, and it is worth trying to book one of them as some other rooms overlook the central courtyard and are thus less private than ours. The thick shutters made for a dark and quiet room at night, so street noise was minimal.

“Charming and Captivating, a wonderful stay!”

Santa Isabel la Real was a charming and well run small hotel. I would compare it to a top rated inn or bed and breakfast in New England. The staff was very helpful and informative. The room was lovely and clean. The location of the hotel in the Albacyin area was perfect. We were able to walk to wonderful restaurants and view points. The bus that takes you to the Alhambra and Plaza Nueva stops right in front of the hotel. The room for breakfast was charming and the sitting room had a computer which guests could use. We loved the hotel and would definitely stay there again. A captivating and charming hotel.

“Wonderful small hotel in the center of the old town”

Great location in the old town with easy access to the Alhambra by small bus which stops right outside. Rooms were cozy and beautifully decorated with all the necessities. Clean, comfortable beds and bedding. Highly recommended.

“Granada is a must see!”

The town and hotel was beautiful and the staff and locals very welcoming. So much atmosphere and history. If driving be prepared for some small streets to get to the hotel, but they have parking nearby once you find the place. I would go back in a heartbeat.

“very nice little hotel and staffs”

Very nice little hotel in the heart of Albaycin , very nice and helpful staffs. Great location, next to St. Nigulas square where you can see Alhambra palace from Albaycin. Room with wi-fi internet access, cozy and clean, quite and safe. There is a little patio behind the reception desk. Wonderful breakfast!!! fruit, egg,bread,ham, milk, coffee...everything you expect for breakfast and delicious. You can get to the hotel by bus 31 or 32 from Plaza Nueva.
