“Excellent Accommodations”

The Tryp hotel is a great place to stay....super clean, great location and excellent staff. They do not have a concierge to book activities, so, I did not rate the service a 5, but ALL of the employees are kind, attentive and competent, the restaurant is above average for a hotel like this. The hotel could use a little modernization, but it is perfectly maintained, very clean, and I highly recommend this place to any and all. the neighborhood is particularly nice to access the city of Granada, The Alhambra and surrounding Sierra Nevada Mountains.

Center City and North side for great food, parks, and historic sites.

“"Great Location"”

Tucked into a great neighborhood, extremely close to all the sights, walkable to everything. This hotel has friendly staff that offered great recommendation. Rooms and hotel are beautifully decorated, bed is alittle hard but your not there to sleep so who cares.

“already recommended to friends !”

Hotel was in a perfect location in a perfect city. Very easy to get around the city by foot as hotel is in an excellent location. We were very happy with the stay. The only negative comment is that the beds (mattresses) were stone hard. However, that seems to be rather common in Spain as we discovered during our trip. Bruno at the reception was most helpful with extra pillows for added comfort or rather for reducing the discomfort of the hard bed. If you not into soft bedding - we recommend this hotel to any travellers as for the price, this is a gem.

“An excellent hotel located at a convinient location”

From the outside, the Hotel does not look much. However, the staff was quite helpful and did not interfere. It was a no-frills experience with all your (travellers) requirements perfectly addressed. There are lots of very good places to eat nearby and it is conviniently located closer to the main attractions. I would like to recommend this hotel if someone is going to stay 3 nights or more.

I prefer the begining of Fall as it is less crowded and the weather is still nice with the trees turning different colors.

Al Hambra and Generalife Go to the Albayzine area during sunset and stay on until they put the lights at the Alhambra - very nice!

“Good comfy hotel”

We stayed 3 nights at this very Nice hotel. Rooms definitely fit the alahmbra theme very nicely. Breakfast is good and the dining area is very lovely. Location is not bad, just a few minutes walk from the main area and alahmbra buses and transport.

“Lovely older hotel”

The hotel is maintained very well but could use a bit of sprucing up. The furnishings in the rooms are dated though well maintained but it wouldn't hurt if the upholstery was redone. The bed was very comforttable. The only real negative was that our room faced the street and the hotel hosts a number of affairs that go on until well after midnight. When the people go out front to smoke or whatever they do, the sound was as if they were in our room. Though I would recommend the hotel, I would suggest asking for a room that doesn't face the street.

The location of Tryp Albyzin was quite convenient-within walking distance of all the sights in Granada we wanted see but not too close to the noisy center of the city.

“Excellent choice”

The location of the hotel was perfect - close to all the happenings. The hotel itself is lovely and comfortable, the personnel friendly and helpfuul and the price is right!

Area recommendations

We drove down to the coast and stopped at Nerha Beach - a beautiful, unpretentious beach town. The beach was clean and very reasonably priced, as was the nearby restaurant. Malaga is a MUST - beautiful coastal city, gorgeous architecture, lively center and Malaga icecream to die for!

“Almost All I Could Want”

I'm biased: I love Granada. My recent 5 day stay at the Tryp Albayzin only served to reinforce that bias. The building itself is attractive, clean, and comfortable. The breakfast was generous, fresh, and tasty. Best of all, the staff was remarkably friendly and helpful, including giving directions when needed and helping us to arrange for an excellent tour of the olive oil country. The only drawback, if it is a drawback, is the location; Tryp Albayzin is a little further from the central "action" than I would have preferred. Even so, the area was nice and certainly felt safe. And, the walking distances were quite achievable. Short version: I do a lot of traveling, and I really like this hotel. It is definitely on my "recommended" list!

Traveler's tip

Of course you'll want to see the Alhambra-- it really is incredible! But... don't overlook the Olive Oil excursion. Really interesting, relaxed, and worth your time.
