“A Good Place to Stay”

The Lodge at Granbury is an older formerly 5 star hotel that now rents for very reasonable rates. This is the second time I have stayed here, and when I go back I will stay here again. The "suite" this time was more like a 2 bedroom apartment, with 2 stories, 2 bedrooms, 2 baths and a full kitchen. If you're looking for modern and fancy, this isn't the place, but if you're looking for lots of space, a great view (it sits right on the lake) and great rates, then try this place. It sits just a block off the downtown square where there are lots of little shops to browse through. The only negative thing I could find is there is no elevator, just stairs to the individual units, so if you have difficulty walking or are wheelchair or scooter-bound, access might be a problem. I would call and check with the hotel about availability of units with easy access.

“Location is great but not too impressed with the room.”

Ideal location overlooking Lake Granbury and a short walk to the town square. Altho the bath & kitchen have been updated the room felt "worn out" with old carpet, furniture. The room deodorizer scent was so strong I had to "air out" the room for an hour....not a good sign. Beautiful lake views from the patio (no chairs however) which was covered with duck "doo-doo"

“Great view but rooms need a major overhaul”

The location is great. We loved the beautiful view from our room but the rooms are very old and there were dead roaches in closets. The room was huge with 2 bathrooms. The worst part is the stairs. You have to climb up and down 2-3 flights of stairs no matter where you stay which was a pain with young children and the elderly people with us. Next year we are going to look into the Hilton right next door.
