Drab "resort"

Posted Sep 15, 2014
Pros: Location
Cons: Rooms need updated BADLY
Location: GRAND CANYONE
For not being in the park, it was convenient and was also located right across from several resturants. However the rooms were dark and dismal, super small beds, old tv. Wi-Fi was iffy at best. Would stay again only if I could not find anything better. Also why is it called a "resort"....drab hotel at best.

Comfortable but pricey.

Posted Sep 15, 2014
Pros: Convenience to the canyon.
Cons: The chairs were very uncomfortable.
Location: Grand Canyon
We just slept in the room. We ate outside the resort but it looked ok. The room was not dissimilar to much cheaper rooms. We paid to be close to the Canyon and that was worth it.

Grand Canyon-S. Rim Hotel

Posted Sep 14, 2014
Pros: Scenic setting, quiet, close to the Grand Canyon. Good restaurant (somewhat pricey, like everything else at this area).
Cons: The only downside I saw was that the vending machines were never able to accept paper money-only coins. Watch your children in the Canyon!!!
Location: (See above).
A very nice place close to the S. Rim entrance of the Grand Canyon (about 1 mile). It is a little off the highway and somewhat hard to find, but this makes it slightly quieter. Rich, the Concierge, was more than excellent in helping us book a very excellent tour with Grand Canyon Dave (his wife, None, actually did it), which is worth the extra money. Rich was helpful with hints and coupons about where and where not to eat, places to see, like the US Highway 66 back to Las Vegas. He was fabulous.

House cleaning and Staff Service

Posted Sep 14, 2014
Pros: Clean and roomy. The staffs dealing with our check-in and check-out were friendly.
Cons: Extremely warm inside the elevator and outside the hotel rooms.
Initially I booked one night and later on added another night through another reservation. I called and also confirmed during check-in we can keep the same room without checking out. When we return to the hotel the next day after visited Grand Canyon, all our personal towels, bags(empty), hangers, shampoo/soap, tooth brush and anything in sight were gone. Our luggage which were inside the closet still remained. Good that we didn't put them outside. Checked with staff in the counter she told me to talk to the service manager the next morning. This was poor communication in the hotel's part and even if customers checked out and left things behind. They should keep customer's belongings in lost and found and customers might return and retrieve it later. The staff in the evening shift didn't even care and just send us away. We talked to the staff in the next morning during our check out and she did apologize and was friendly. However, it is very inconvenient as my waif has very sensitive skin and needed to use her own soap and shampoo.

Very noisy, overpriced stay.

Posted Sep 14, 2014
Pros: Closeness to Grand Canyon
Cons: Not so much money.
Location: Very close to Grand Canyon
This hotel is overpriced and has very thin walls. We could hear our neighbours speaking. Front desk staff spoke poor English. Breakfast was ok, pretty much tasteless.

Space and convenience

Posted Sep 6, 2014
Pros: The room is actually a suite and very spacious.
Cons: I think some of the lounge futniture was quite old but we were happy enough with it.
Location: Good location. Just outside the park so good for anyone wanting to make multiple visits to the canyon. Several restaurants are close by.
Friendly staff. Quick, efficient check in and out. Good parking right outside our ground floor room.
