Overall bad experience.Posted Jul 23, 2014
Cons: Rate, Pool size, Electrical door locks.......
Location: Location is close to the Grand Canyon entrance.
The hotel is overpriced. Similar hotels in US is around 150$

The room was not worth the price. Plus Expedia did not give us a deal. The room was small, tv small, and bathroom small. There were not enough working electrical outlets. No place to put your suitcase (suitcase stand or table). The pool was too small for the number of rooms ( this place is enormous!) Tusayan is a pit, if you can afford it stay in the park. Not even a nice coffee shop.

Very convenientPosted Jul 22, 2014
Pros: location staff parking pool
Cons: it's a bit tired and needs sprucing up in some areas, and it's a bit motel like in how it's laid out, but it's fine
Location: imax (which we didnt know was next door until we left!) Grand Canyon of course markets and restaurants
I stayed here with my husband and 2 kids (11 and 9). It was super close to the south entrance to the GC and had loads of stores and places to eat close by. It was pretty basic and a little tired overall but it did the job, and the bonus was the kids loved the outdoor pool. The staff were all extremely pleasant and friendly, no issues at all, the lounge bar waiter in particular was lovely and made the kids virgin cocktails and took them in to them in the spa pool. The rooms were hot so the air con was very welcome and sorted that out quickly, and the beds were comfy. Food was passable but not expensive, and we were so tired we ate there both nights. I would definitely stay again, it is great for being a no-frills place in a fab location to drive to the GC early. In the GC itself, we drove in about 7.45am, went straight to the Kaibab Trail (avoid the visitor centre during the morning) and did the hike to skeleton point. It really was ok, even my daughter was fine with the length. Yes it was harder work going back up in some places but not too bad even in July. The experience was amazing and the hike just made it - worth going down into the canyon and not just looking over the edge, it's totally different. The hike took us 4.5 hours total but we did march back up pretty quick. The book says 6 hours is usual. Take lots of water - we took 12 litres for the 4 of us and used about 9 but better to have too much than the opposite! Also slather on the sun lotion and enjoy!

Overpriced motelPosted Jul 17, 2014
Cons: Upgrades needed or lower prices.
Location: The Grand Canyon!
The advertised Wi-Fi did not work. There was nowhere to place opened suitcases. The room was cramped. There, near the beautiful Grand Canyon the balcony opened into a covered, steamy atrium. Not pleasant. Nearby motels were less expensive but alas, our reservations could not be changed. The staff was was particularly pleasant and helpful but that did not compensate for problems of a worn-out facility.

Staff was very rude when checking in. Very pricey for what you get, I suppose everything close to the park will be pricey, but I was not real impressed.

Rustic but coolPosted Jul 13, 2014
Not a new facility, but a lovely enclosed courtyard with skylights and indoor got tub. We loved sitting on the indoor patio overlooking the courtyard. The pool was a slight walk from the main building but pleasant. The hotel is an easy walk to restaurants, coffee shops, and hiking right outside the door. Room was clean, furnishings were older but charming.

Pros: most of the staff are nice
Cons: tell them to change old style TV sets out of the romms and have them change to flat screen TV. Internet access is very limited.
hotel room not clean , Ac is old style and noisy. The rooms are over rated. you should encourage other hotel chains to have more presence there and bring the price down and quality up so that more people can decide to stay there and enjoy the canyon more. there was no internet access in the room

Great stayPosted Jul 9, 2014
Pros: Location to the Canyon and older gentleman at the front desk.
Cons: Shower had a problem draining.
Location: Grand canyon
We got in around 10 pm and we were met at the front desk by a nice older gentleman. We left the next morning at 7 am and really didn't get a chance to enjoy our motel room as much as we wanted. The place was very good and we will come back.
