Close to Grand Canyon.

Posted Feb 25, 2015
Pros: Close to Grand Canyon. Cleaning, bar and restaurant staff very helpful. Food good.
Cons: Not make the the 18% gratuity mandatory
Location: We went to the AMAZING Grand Canyon. Planes of Fame museum across the road. A bit further to go and see the Meteor Crater and Lowell Observatory.
Close to Grand Canyon. Food good. Four of us in family group so meals worked out quite expensive with the mandatory 18% gratuity. Forced to eat elsewhere. Staff were very friendly and obliging. Great location for about two days close to GC but if you want to visit Flagstaff, Williams or Meteor Crater, then I would suggest booking another hotel for those days

Friendly staff but ...

Posted Feb 25, 2015
Pros: Friendly staff
Cons: Cleaning service, especially un bathrooms. Bathtub has accessories that need fixing.
Location: No walking distance amenities or shopping.
...the way rooms are set up in blocks made it impossible to access dining room during snow storm.

Good hotel except for water temp issue

Posted Feb 23, 2015
I visited from San Diego and the hotel size was actually a lot bigger than expected for the price. The hotel was pretty clean and in decent condition but the hotel is out-of-date. Two blankets were provided on each bed; one was a thinner blanket and the other more just decorative. They need to update the decorative blanket to a "non-sliding" blanket so it can actually be used. The main disappointing issue I had was the water temp issue. I think if a lot of other people are taking a shower at the same time, the water heaters have a hard time maintaining the warm water temp. When I showered, there was no in-between; it was either stinging hot or freezing cold. So I took a bath. My friend that I was with had a more tolerable experience. Overall, I would give the hotel a 3 out of 5.

I was here in the end of January for 1 night. I wanted to be close to the Grand Canyon for a reasonable price and I got just that. There was nothing I noticeably disliked or liked. There is not much near this place besides some other hotels not even food, so if you're looking for a town with restaurants and entertainment I suggest staying further out near Flagstaff. This place is conveniant due to it's proximity to the Grand Canyon. We grabbed some breakfast at McDonalds just outside the Grand Canyon around 7am, nothing else was open.
