Clean, efficient and comfortable

Posted Nov 25, 2014
We were greeted by very efficient staff, they make sure you just don't stand there waiting for a CSR to become available. Rooms are what you expect for the money you're paying and the location of the place. Their breakfast plan is where this hotel really shines. Forget the proverbial coffee & muffin, this place gives a complete buffet and unlike other places they don't run out of food by 7am, food is being replenish as more guests arrive. You leave with a good feeling and a full stomach.

Great location, disappointing staff

Posted Nov 21, 2014
Pros: Location.
Cons: train or replace staff. Have management check on staff.
Location: Train from Williams, plane and helicopter tours of canyon, bus and jeep tours, mule tours, hiking. All related to Grand Canyon.
The hotel has a nice location just a few miles outside the park gates. The included breakfast has a nice selection, but bagels and bread a starting to go stale. the eggs are cheese omelets, with hard edges and the cheese tasted like "cheese food" not real cheese. The staff seems to be in the way more than helping. Our beds were never made for the 3 days were at the hotel. Staff just gave fresh towels and emptied trash can. We found trash from previous occupant under bed. The staff also clogs the hallways with carts at 8-9 in the morning, when there is the most activity from guests. I asked at the front desk about activities to do besides hiking in the canyon, and they said that was it. They never mentioned the train from Williams, guided bus tours of canyon or other options such as helicopter tours. The local restaurants in town are overpriced with average food.

Dear Ed, Thank you for your comments which are appreciated... We are glad that overall you enjoyed your stay! I agree with the internet, however we only have 1 provider in our area who refuses to increase the bandwidth into our town. Our Town Mayor & leadership are diligently working towards finding a solution so that our visitors can have the connectivity they are used to. Once again thank you for your review and for your business! Sincerely, Elena V - General Manager

Handy for the Grand Canyon sight seeing

Posted Nov 20, 2014
Pros: The staff and the Breakfast
Cons: WiFi
Location: Grand Canyon, What else would you want when you've got that.
The staff were great, room was clean, breakfast was good. Good value for what we paid and the breakfast was better than we had at a hotel in Phoenix costing twice as much. I wouldn't hesitate to stay here again. Only one drawback was poor WiFi reception.

Well located

Posted Nov 13, 2014
Pros: Location
Cons: Facilities as mentioned
Location: Location is walking distance to restaurants and close enough to the Grand Canyon.
We were given a ground floor room with cars parked up to the windows which meant you couldn't open your curtains. There was no fridge to keep things cool. Ice was available. For any black tea drinkers there was none available at all in the hotel.

Dear Cherie, Thank you for your comments... We are glad that overall you enjoyed your stay, as to the ground floor rooms even though there is a sidewalk between the room window & parking I can understand not having a lot of privacy in these rooms, do suggest higher floors in the future. As to black tea, we rarely get requests for this tea that is why we don't normally carry it, however I will place asmall order of it & have it on hand in case we get a request from a guest such as yourself. Thank you for your review and especially for your business! Sincerely, Elena V - General Manager

The location and free breakfast make it worth it!

Posted Nov 11, 2014
Most reviews cover most things about this hotel. I'll mention a few different things here. There is a HUGE free breakfast, buffet style and all you can eat (or carry with you for a hike!). I ate a lot of food, then packed more for my hike into the Grand Canyon, it offset my lunch cost/needs later that day. The wi-fi is useless. Think dial-up from around 1990. It's apparently a problem with the town/area, and their mainline. All hotels supposedly have this. I have unlimited data through Att, but the hotel is located in a roaming zone, so you have to watch your data usage. (Emails for sharing all your great canyon pics, looking up directions, etc) it adds up fast. The hotel is located along a strip that's created the only resemblance of a town there is. Most hotels, hotel restaurants, fast food, small convience stores, gift shops are all within walking distance of each other. The hotel staff here hit or miss, some seemed burned out by tourists, others seemed perky and happy. Given the choices of hotel in this area, the free GOOD food, the prices, I would go back to this Holiday Inn.
