The Basics

Posted Aug 28, 2014
The place felt safe, but nothing fancy. The pool was right along the highway - functional but not aesthetic. The TV was 1990s vintage at best.

Room Discrepancy

Posted Aug 18, 2014
I booked a room thru Expedia for non smoking. when i got to the hotel i was given a smoking room. They charged me $15.00 plus tax to change to a non-smoking room. the next day i brought my receipt in to show them that i booked a non smoking room and they would not give me my money back.

Noisy Air Conditioner and Hot Room

Posted Jul 17, 2014
Pros: close to Fwy
Cons: Air conditioners and a better breakfast
Location: just a stop along the way to other places.
Difficult to sleep given extreme noise from AC and room could not be cooled down. Breakfast is also very disappointing.

Incorrect reservation recd by hotel from expedia

Posted Jul 15, 2014
Pros: not much of anything
Cons: having the reservation recd correctly by the hotel
Location: Location was the only good thing.
hotel was overbooked. we were second people with incorrect expedia reservations at the counter. Only smoking rooms. Expedia never asked if we wanted smoking or not. Room was smelly and dirty. Never got extra towels we requested at the front desk. Disappointing

Dilapidated Dump

Posted Jul 14, 2014
Pros: The girl at the front desk was helpful. The bed was comfortable and the TV worked well.
Cons: Needs a proper cleaning and paint.
Location: We visited the Museum of Northern Arizona, The Lowell Observatory, and the Arboretum which were all wonderful places.
There was a paper seal on the toilet that stated that it had been cleaned, but when I lifted the seat and broke the seal, I found dried urine on the seat. The girl at the front desk took us to a new room immediately. The building and room needed deep cleaning and a paint job. There was a piece of carpet and floor molding missing from the first room and the carpet left dirt on the bottoms of our white socks. The bed was comfortable and the TV worked well, but it might as well have been the Motel 8 across the street which was managed by the same company, had the same appearance, and cost less.

Dingy and stingy

Posted Jul 13, 2014
Motel upon check in appeared the bog standard affair. Room initially looked nice, but dated. Bed was really nice and in a good condition, but unfortunately the rest of the room quickly appeared very tired and in need of a renovation. It also initially appeared clean, but there were piles of dust in the corners of the room. Then we located the safe in the room, which was locked open. Upon inquiring with reception I was told that to use the safe costs $1.67 extra a day. The receptionist talked like I was stupid for asking, but this wasn't noted anywhere at all on the safe itself, plus it seems extremely petty to demand such an extra small amount. I've never been somewhere where you have to pay extra to use the safe inside your own room. Breakfast the next day was very disappointing. Arrived with still 20 minutes of breakfast time left and there was hardly any food left and no coffee. A member of staff occasionally would wander over, stare at the breakfast counter, where there was visibly no food, and then would just wander back to reception. Admittedly I didn't directly ask if there was more food available, an oversight on my part, but what was the point of the member of staff staring at an empty breakfast bar and not refilling anything. Didn't even notice that the coffee was empty.
