Fine hotel, really good value. Not too far from central Flagstaff. A/C didnt work in our room. Would definately reccommend

get what you pay for

Pros: price. at the end of the day you know what you're getting at Ho Jo's so if you just need a place to sleep that isnt glorious they are perfect
Cons: power outlet issues.
room wasn't ready at 3, despite an early check in. was not ready until 4:30. not a single easily findable power outlet near the bed/nightstands, had to charge phone in the bathroom.

One night stay

We stayed one night. Good location, but close to train track. Might bother some but enjoyable for us. Breakfast was very lacking and not much seating. We ended up eating in resturant adjacent to hotel. It was good, but an expense not planned for.

Great place for a great price!

Was looking for a place for one night but would have stayed longer! The view of the mountains was great, location was accessible, great friendly staff and the cafe up front is great bang for the buck. Next time I go up to Flagstaff I won't need to look again!

Overnight stay after drive from Boulder, CO

I found the beds to be very uncomfortable, too firm and the pillows were too small and too soft. I woke up with leg cramps, a sore back and a stiff neck. By 2:00am it seemed pointless to get the whole family up and out of bed and look for another place for the night after being on the road for 13 hours. In all I probably had 4 hours sleep with another 8 hours driving in front of me. I would had been more rested if I took a nap in the car at a rest area. Breakfast was far under par. At 8:00am they were down to a couple small muffins and fruit loop cereal. We went to McDonalds instead. Not the place for vacationing, nor for an overnight stay. Looking to “get a room” for a few hours though, this would be the place, but pricey even for THAT.

Hotel room

Had to ask for a different room. The room that was 1st given to us had a strong musty & cigarette order(non-smoking room). Got a different room a little better, but still had a musty smell.

Desperate

201 is a noisy room smelt like old cigarette smoke. It had been renovated beds were fine. A little small for two beds. Staff was greeting friendly at 11:30 pm.

Nice Stay for what you pay!

My boyfriend and I only stayed for the night at HJ. The receptionist was efficient but wasn't particularly welcoming, but it didn't bother us. The room was nice! Considering what I was paying, it was quite nice. The only thing that was annoying was the pillows. The pillows were tiny square things that had no support. They couldn't even give you normal pillows. But we only stayed for the night so it was bearable. The train situation was fine, we weren't bothered by it at all. Breakfast is definitely a joke but the diner next door is nice and has good breakfast for a good price :) Overall a comfortable stay and definitely worth the money. A lot of the reviews on here scared me and I almost didn't book but I didn't experience any of the same problems. Just get some real pillows and everyone will be happy!!

Noise! Noise! Noise!

Pros: not much
Cons: smell and new windows and better pillows. pretty skimpy tiny little square pillows
Location: walk to the bar next door
The overall experience was terrible due to a several issues. The room was very tight not very much walking room for two adults and 1 young child, reminded me of an airline aisle one at a time and no passing. The location is across the street from the railroad tracks which is common for this part of town however the windows are so old and thin every train that passed (every hour all night) was very loud. The motel is old so it did have the old smell to go with it however did not feel dirty. The worst part of our experience after the realization hit that we would be listening to trains all night was that we were located right next door to a bar/lodge and on the weekends have live music. It really got rolling after about 1:00 am, could be great if you wanted to party and have a place to crawl home. I have to say the only saving grace was the really loud air conditioner, which on its own would have been a negative, was loud enough to drown out the live booming music and muffle the freight trains. Overall skip this one and be sure to plan ahead to reserve a better location when arriving tired in flagstaff on a friday night at 8 pm without a reservation.

expensive for what they offer

Pros: at least it was clean and new paint.
Cons: the breakfast should be nice for the price...
Location: 3.5 miles form downtown
They include a breakfast but it is almost nothing because they own the restaurant attached to the hotel and they want you to go pay there. The breakfast table weren't clean and the front desk was just texting her phone. I won't recommend this hotel.
