A nice place to stay

Posted Oct 20, 2014
Pros: Overall just about everything.
Location: We found the quick access to I- 40 convenient. It was easy to head north to the Sunset Crater and the Grand Canyon from this location.
Little America is a nice place to stay. It is all by itself away from other hotels. It is right next to the interstate but we could not hear the noise. Our room was on the back side of the hotel and very quiet. It is part of a truck stop but you could not tell as it stands alone. Handy if your vehicle uses diesel fuel. The hotel is nice, clean and staff is very friendly. The hotel has a hiking trail directly behind it into the forest which is great for the early morning joggers and walkers. They have a large gift shop which is a bit pricey, but was still able to find a few gifts for family that didn't break the bank. It is one of the nicest gift shops I have seen in a hotel. The restaurant is very nice. It has a limited menu, but I think something for everyone. Our room was very nice and well appointed. It clean and quiet. It is a more expensive than the Big Box motels but worth the price if you are going to be staying more than one night.

Right off freeway.

I would not stay at this hotel again. No elevator. The whole place needs redoing. I think it is liked by older people because it is decorated very old fashioned. Uncomfortable bed. Expensive breakfast, not included.

Visiting Flagstaff

Posted Oct 14, 2014
The room was very spacious, clean and comfortable. Location made for easy access to downtown and the university areas. Outdoor area in back was very pleasant for strolling or sitting by the pool (a little too cold to swim). Restaurant dinner was quite good. The steak au Povaire (pardon my spelling) was one of the best meals I have had out in quite some time. We visited Flagstaff on the way back to Las Vegas from the Grand Canyon, but several people used it as the launching point for their Grand Canyon adventure. We rode the ski lift at the Arizona Snowbowl. It takes you up to 11,500 feet so dress for a 20-30 degree drop in temperature and wind at the top. Great views so worth the ride. Just north of town off route 89 was Sunset Crater, an extinct volcano with a lava flow. Interesting to see especially since we didn't realize the area was impacted by volcanos. Definitely a collage town flavor especially the historic downtown area.

Touring the grand canyon

Posted Oct 10, 2014
Pros: Food and room
Cons: Microwave in our room would have been nice
Location: Sedona, route 66, painted desert, Grand Canyon, Indian muesems, train rides.
Comfortable, interesting, and oh so beautiful. Very good food and laundry, gift shop and bar all under one roof.

Good location

Posted Oct 9, 2014
Pros: Space and cleanliness
Cons: Put tea bag in teapot before the HOT water x
Location: Went on the Grand Canyon train .... This is a must .... Book first class if funds will allow..... Don't have breakfast.... Lots af goodies on train .
This hotel was wonderful, large room (very large) spotless, nice pool. Staff in restaurant very pleasant .... Nothing too much trouble.... Even for the Brits and their obsession with a good cup of hot tea with milk!!! Air con quiet so had a good nights sleep, bed comfy and a good shower/bath.
