Very impressed (but far from Grand Canyon)

Posted Sep 3, 2014
Pros: - Breakfast - Staff - Facilities - Scenery
We stayed in the hotel for 2 nights as part of our road trip round the Arizona/Utah National Parks, with this leg being for the Grand Canyon. The lodges in the Grand Canyon Village were fully booked so we looked at places outside the National Park to stay and Little America seemed to offer great value for money (and it did). The hotel itself was great, with large air conditioned rooms and a pleasant view/setting to the rear. The hotel is also well serviced with a restaurant (the breakfast buffet was superb), bar, and late night grill (part of the gas station net to the hotel). There is also a small shop nearby for supplies, plus flagstaff is a large town with plenty of amenities and shops (target, CVS, restaurants etc...) However, the one con is that Flagstaff itself is about 90 miles from the Grand Canyon which means you have to travel for at least 1.5hrs before reaching your destination. But this is not the fault of the hotel, just a fact for those interested in finding a base for that National Park - you may want to look at booking in a town closer like Tusayan. In summary, if I was exploring Flagstaff, Little America would be my first choice. If/when I return to the Grand Canyon, I will be booking somewhere closer.

Great place for an Arizona Adventure trip

Posted Sep 2, 2014
Pros: Clean, comfortable beds; nice pool area
Cons: The decor is old-fashioned, but that really only adds to the experience
Location: Conveniently located right off of I-40, and is a 5-minute drive from downtown Flagstaff
This hotel exceeded expectations. It was perfectly located right off of I-40, which made it easy to get to the sites for our adventures to Sedona, Antelope Canyon, Lake Powell, and the Grand Canyon. The rooms are spacious and the decor felt very homey, with very comfortable beds. The pool area was also lovely - with a hot tub and tikki torches that provided for a relaxing setting post-Grand Canyon hike. I will definitely recommend this hotel to friends.

Relaxing hotel in the pine trees!

Posted Aug 31, 2014
Pros: Rooms are nice and large size rooms.
We have gone to this hotel several times. When we are ready to get out of the heat in the Phoenix area we always head up to Flagstaff for a few days and this hotel is a must for us. The hotel is off the highway but you would never know that. It is nestled among the pine trees and the grounds make you feel as if you are in the middle of the forest.

Relaxed hotel

Posted Aug 28, 2014
Pros: Roaring fire in the bar
Cons: Room was a bit dated
We received a warm welcome at this hotel, the facilities were good and the food in the restaurant was "hearty" which was great as it was a cold day when we visited. The room was rather dated with its pink tiled bathroom but was clean and comfortable. We only stayed for one night as we were on a road trip, certainly it was good for our requirements.

Pros: The quiet ambience in a serene environment.
Cons: Not a thing.
Location: Recommend dinner at Josephine's Restaurant. Top drawer gourmet!
Exceedingly nice hotel in a park environment. Large rooms, quality linens, and gorgeous view to wooded park land.

Loved the overall feel of the property. Although located right off I - 40, you still feel tucked away in your own little world. Is a great place to stay for a day or a week. Really a nice place for kids with the swimming pool, volleyball court, horseshoe pits and nature trail. Easy access to downtown Flagstaff and area attractions. Rooms are amazingly large, with a charm about them you don't readily see anymore. Even has a Sinclair gas station on the property. Can't remember last time I saw one of those! Staff was friendly and helpful. For the adults, try a mojito at the bar while enjoying the Ponderosa pines just outside. One hint: ask for a room facing the interior of the property. The view is much better. Highly recommend this property.

Nice hotel

Posted Aug 24, 2014
Pros: Room size, great customer service, old school feel.
Cons: A place to get a cup of coffee in the morning, or a quick breakfast. All they offer is a $14 all you can eat buffet... I think.
Location: NAU.
A VERY well maintained older hotel . Has an old school charm with big comfortable rooms. Not your side of the freeway cookie cutter hotel.... much better.
