Slow service from front desk; card keys had to be exchanged several times when they wouldn't work; housekeeping did a so-so job of cleaning room up- beds were horribly made

Beautiful place, only one elevator

Posted Jul 3, 2015
The facility was beautiful and our room (especially bathroom) was nice. The beds were not as comfortable, but were also not hard as a rock. There is only one elevator in the facility. Our room was near the end of their very, very, very long hall ways, which made this location of and only one elevator inconvenient for many reasons. The AC unit was located right up against one of the queen beds. There was not way to angle where the cold air went; thus, those that slept in that bed were freezing so the rest in the room could stay comfortable. The pool was a little small. After a long day at the Grand Canyon and knowing that checkin is not until 4, we were ready to get into our room to rest. At 4:04 after waiting in a long line, we were told our room was not ready and would not be for at least another 30 minutes. When I asked if I had to stand in the long line again just to find out if a room was available, I was told that I could sit and wait, but would have to wait in line to find out. I asked about receiving a phone call when it was ready and the man said he would call. One hour and a half later, we still had not received a phone call, my young children had to sleep in the car. For the large amount I paid to stay there, I got a "im sorry".

Grand Hotel

Posted Jul 3, 2015
Hotel was clean, comfortable, modern and appeared relatively new. The location was great-right outside the park gates. Much better than staying at the older hotels inside the park.

disappointed

Posted Jul 1, 2015
Pros: The beds where very soft and comfortable and the comforters where very nice. The supplies in the bathroom where nice and of good quality.
Cons: Get spa fixed and train staff better where everything is in hotel.
Location: Grand Canyon.
SPA was broken, Staff was not helpful did not even know where Ice machine was on first floor. The reason I went with this Hotel was ad indicated it there was a newly remodeled Pool and Spa. Pool is small, some people left because there was no room to swim.

The Grand pictures itself as a lodge and it's not

Posted Jun 30, 2015
Pros: Only the location, and it's availability.
Cons: Everything except the entry and lounge needs to be renovated.
Location: It's close to the Grand Canyon.
The hotel is over priced. No refrigerator in room and when I called and asked for one, the one that was delivered had a door that wouldn't stay closed. It was propped up with wash clothes jammed under it. The small closet had only three hangers. There were only 3 sets of towels for the four of us. The pool is inside and very small. The hot tub was outside on a small cement patio with only four lounge chairs and two umbrellas. No breakfast included and the room was over $300 per night. I would rate it slightly above a Motel Six.

Perfect for a Grand Canyon stay...

Posted Jun 30, 2015
Pros: Staff, Room, Ambience, Pool.
Cons: The restaurant.
Location: Grand Canyon, National Geographic IMAX theatre, Helicopter Rides.
That's to say there is really nothing else close by... The hotel was really nice, the bathroom was really nice, the beds were so comfy. The only thing I wish we had was a fridge in the room. After our first night, we saw someone request a fridge... Why didn't we think of that? That staff was so helpful and swift. There was a nice heated indoor pool. But the "hot" tub was cold. Not sure why. The hotel is a hop and a skip from the Grand Canyon National Park (seriously, just go straight and its there), and all amenities are walkable, thanks to a really nice walking path around Tusayan. Since the park was so close, we even got up early to catch the sunrise. I woud avoid the restaurant inside the hotel for breakfast. The price for the buffet wasn't really worth it to me, although the waitstaff was pleasant and helpful. The gift shop had really nice things, too, but if you want to buy authentic Native American made items, don't buy here. I hope this is helpful.

Toilet running slow. No response from staff, room poorly stocked. Not enough staff to handle the number of guests. Facility clean. Hot tub not cold.

Comfy Room but Restaurant was just Ok

Posted Jun 16, 2015
The beds were very comfy! After seeing the canyon it was so refreshing to be able to feel at home. The only downside was the restaurant was convenient but not the best food, especially for the price you pay for it.
