Great inexpensive pick for Flagstaff

Pros: The beds and the price
Cons: A better breakfast offering
Location: The Galaxy Diner is across the street, and the Grand Canyon is a little more than an hour drive away
We checked into this Route 66 hotel after driving in from Los Angeles and we arrived pretty late. Check-in with nice and swift which was great since we were tired from the full day. It's a shame we didn't have more time in the room, because it was one of the more comfortable rooms of our entire cross-country trip! The bed! Oh man, I want that bed here in my bedroom. A giant soft and comfortable king sized bed, it was just what my body needed after the previous nights of camping and not near as plush hotel beds. I loved that bed. I hit snooze three times because the bed had me in it's lovely grasps. The bathroom was nice and clean. I love hotel bathrooms that have the sink and facilities separate, and this place has exactly that. The water pressure and temps were spot on too...I despise low pressure and weird showerheads and that was not to be found here thankfully. The tv was nice and big, there was a fridge and microwave in there too, along with a desk. But it was a quick stay so we used none of them. The breakfast provided was basic and right on par with whats offered at joints like this. A coffee and cheese danish for the road as we went to the Grand Canyon was perfect for me. Speaking of which, the Grand Canyon is a very scenic 70 minute drive from here, so there's that. The famous Galaxy Diner is right across the street too if you're in need of a meal.

Location: Lowell Observatory.
The man working the desk was really nice. Very helpful choosing a place to eat. The room was pretty good sized.

Good things was re-model hotel and could had a good view from this hotel, But bath tub was broken.

Holiday weekend

Pros: Location.
Cons: Breakfast beverages, odors in rooms.
Location: Located on Route 66, it was near enough to downtown and other venues.
I was pleased with my experience for the first two minutes and it was downhill from there. The room had a musty odor, there was hair on the towels, the coffee served with breakfast was rancid. I paid way too much, holiday weekend or not. This place was gross.

Hotel is NOT on the NAU Campus

I believe the title of this hotel is misleading. By stating Travelodge-NAU Conference Center I thought this hotel was on the NAU campus. IT IS NOT. It is near NAU (like many hotels) but not on campus next to the conference center. Room was OK and staff was not overly friendly, just ok. They also charge a $10 extra person charge, apparently more than 2 people in a room warrants an extra person. I decided to not take other daughter so I asked for the $10 extra person charge to be removed. They stated they could not do it and I need to contact Expedia. What a hassle. Hotel was only worth 2 stars, very run down and old looking outside. No pool. Breakfast provided was not worth it.

Way over priced!

Had this hotel been in the $70 - $100 range, this review would be more favorable. Paying $180 left me feeling ripped-off. Keep in mind that I routinely chose hotels in or around the $200-250 range. I stayed at Little America hotel in Durango for my second night in town for $40 less and the room was many many times nicer. This hotel has not been updated since the 70s. Although clean, the room was quite shabby looking. The carpet was stained and worn. The furniture is in rough shape, and the shower runs at a trickle. To add to my disappointment, the breakfast was less than the norm for a hotel in this price range. No eggs, no fruiit, no meat, and what amounted to instant coffee,

Old motel, not worth the $$$

Desk clerk was not a friendly person. The room was barely average. No convenient electric outlets. The coffee pot was dirty still from the last guests.

Better than expected!

Although the breakfast is never a full continental breakfast (just muffins, toast, danishes and coffee), the overall experience was very pleasing. Room was very clean and roomy and the bed very comfortable. I would reserve this hotel again definitely. Thanks!
