“Great boutique hotel”
Normally stay at the Ritz and equally large splashy hotels but gcbs was a Fabulous boutique hotel on one of the best Caribbean beaches. Staff was extremely friendly and accomodating (except woman at front desk upon arrival and departure could have tried to be friendly). 2 bedroom ocean front suite with huge terrace was amazing, kitchenette was sufficient. Hotel's location was great. The only negative we had was that the pools' water was very cold even for our brave children who love to swim! Still, it made us appreciate the beautiful beach even more. We would definitely return and recommend this hotel.
“Relaxing Low Key Hotel”
This is my husband and my third stay at the Beach Suites. We have been to the Cayman the last five years and have found the Beach Suites to be the most relaxing, comfortable, low key facility that we have been to. The suites are generously sized with a full bedroom and separate bath. I recommend getting a room with the full balcony as the view from these rooms are fantastic and the size of the balconey is quite large. My husband and I spent a lot of time on the balcony gazing at the beautiful view. The grounds are very nice although this trip there was maintenance being performed on a part of the building (cleaning off rust I believe) that made a lot of noise during the day. The staff are friendly and las I stated earlier, ow-key. The beach access is lovely, and there are always enough lounge chairs (nicely covered) at the beach and surrounding the two pools. Although not the most modern of facilities, the Beach Suites are still a great value and I highly recommend it.
“Wonderful place to relax on the beach”
Location is great! Beach chairs wonderful!
“Best Value for "Almost" Luxury”
The Beach Suites were, to our surprise, a magnificent find on Grand Caymans' Seven Mile Beach. In short, the rooms are 1-bedroom apartments with mini-kitchenettes including a mini fridge, microwave, coffee maker and kitchen sink. The television and DVD player worked well although reception was grainy for the tv. It's something we could tolerate because the room was so wonderful. There's a small dining area and a well appointed living which included a desk for our laptop. The bedroom, although a little small, was tastefully decorated and the bedding was luxurious and comfortable. The bedroom has a small standard closet and the hallway in the entry area has a very large coat/luggage closet which was more room than the two of us needed. Lastly, the balcony area, although small in our room was fabulous simply because the sliding door was a three pane slider which opened the entire wall to the outside, overlooking the beautiful pool, pool-bar and beach. The grounds are well groomed and the pool/beach area is well manicured. Drinks are very expensive (11.00 US for a "foofy" tropical drink and around 6 for a beer) but the quality is excellent. There is a Fosters supermarket down the road within walking distance (20 min walk) and a wonderful coffee shop called Azzura across the street in the "blue" plaza which opens at 6 a.m. and serves inexpensive quality breakfasts. The hotel restaurants/bar are expensive but convenient.
“Grand Cayman Beach Suites daycare center”
The Grand Cayman Beach Suites is a very nice property with large clean rooms. This is our second stay on this property but we ran into an issue this time that change this quiet little property into a daycare center. Apparently the hotel sells memberships to the pool which is used by a local community. Last time we were there we never saw this problem but this time the pool was packed with kids. During the week they show up after 4 PM and on weekends they were there the entire day, 8 AM till 8 PM. The pool is so crowded and loud on weekends the hotel guest can not even get in the water nor would you want to. We saw entire families camped out at the pool the entire day and they made no room for hotel guest. It really is a very nicve hotel but this little issue puts a damper on a nice quiet stay. Even while in your room you need to keep the door shut because of the screeming kids. Not sure if I would stay there again.
“Most relaxing spot on Seven Mile Beach”
You will find most everything you need for a relaxing vacation at the Beach Suites. From an uncrowded and clean swimming pool, access to all of the water sports you can think of, padded lounge chairs, great food at Hemingway's and a swim up bar. The only thing they are missing is free WiFi, of which no one has ($13 per day). Great location and within walking distance to other great eateries, grocery and a liquor store. Kids loved the snorkling, just steps from the pool area. You will really appreciate the padded lounging as on the Ritz has anything like them on 7 Mile.
“Excellent place, Excellent people, Excellent time of year”
First time to Caymans and was well pleased with the facility and the staff. Great view and not too crowded, especially this time of year.
“great location and place to stay”
We picked this hotel based on the reviews of prior expedia visitors.. We narrowed our choice down to this hotel and the ritz. This hotel was a lot less than the Ritz and I think a little better location with the restaurants across the street and close by. You are within walking distance to many places to eat and can catch public transportation to downtown. Some of the prior reviews complained about the service. We thought the service was great and had no issues. The beach, beach chairs, etc. were great. We loved the catarmaran evening cruise and the free catamaran sail to rum point for dinner was also great. The onsite red sail team was excellent. Azzurro caffe was great for breakfast and much less expensive than the hotel for breakfast. We also walked to Dunkin Donuts twice for breakfast. We loved Ragazzi for dinner and also enjoyed Luca. We also ate at Deckers for dinner. We though Ragazzi was a little better than Deckers. Would definitely come back here.
“Pretty good hotel and I will go back.”
The hotel was very nice. We had turn down service each night. Having a suite really worked for us.
“Hotel stay was Marvelous!”
The hotel was great! We loved our stay. Room was beautiful and very spacious. The people at the hotel and the service at the hotel was wonderful! They were very accommodating and helpful! The only thing we were not impressed with was the service at the restaurant at the hotel, Hemingways. The food was excellent but the service (especially for the price) was absolutely horrible. If we ever go back we would stay at the Beach suites again for sure.
