A must if you like a quiet, not too big hotel

Posted Feb 23, 2015
Pros: Its staff. Everyone excells in making your stay enjoyable. The food at the Hemingway restaurant is out of this world.
Cons: The hide-a-bed in the suites. Should be replaced. Not comfortable at all.
Location: Location: on the Seven Miles Beach. Can't be better! Near by: play with dolphins. A must.
This was our second stay at the GCBS. This hotel is meticulously kept. Staff eager to please. Curteous. If a problem occurs, it is solved promptly. Many long chairs, comfortable, by the pool (water is cold, pool does not receive sun rays) & on the beach. The suites are well appointed. Although the hide-a-bed in living room are old, not comfortable at all. The Hemingway restaurant: high cuisine. Excellent. If you're looking for a not too big hotel, with outstanding service, quiet, right on the beach, with excellent food at its main restaurant, then the GCBS is the spot. We will go back there. Definitely.

Good experience but some minuses

Posted Feb 5, 2015
We spent 7 days at Grand Cayman Beach Suites. Here are the pluses: Great location, great beach, great beach access, best chairs on the beach (quality and availability), quiet, nicely renovated and large rooms, decent fitness facility, good outside bar but limited food menu for lunch when coming off the beach or laying by the pool, great poolside service from Joey and Lyndsey . And now the negatives: Several of the desk staff were less than enthusiastic about helping us, while most of the housekeeping staff were very friendly one or two bad apples acted like they were doing us a favor to clean our room, couldn't run A/C in the large bedroom (of a two bedroom suite) because the cold air dumped on the bed. Nevertheless, an overall good experience and would likely stay there again.

Great place!

Posted Feb 1, 2015
Location: Places to eat nearby. Hotel bar and restaurant were better than we expected, and we went more than once. Walking distance to other restaurants.
Amenities, view, spaciousness, quiet, convenience, beach chairs/towels were all awesome. You get more for your money than some of the top chain hotels.

Perfect location and staff; good property

Posted Jan 23, 2015
There is no better location on Seven Mile Beach. Relatively small property with spacious suites and nice views. Great for families. Friendly, knowledgeable, helpful and gracious staff. Great on-site Red Sail facilities. Only minus is that rooms are a bit dated and some bits of elementary maintenance have been overlooked, ensuring that the hotel can't rate as a 5 star property. That said, you're likely to be so distracted by the positives, that you'll never get around to complaining about the few negatives.

Large suite on the beach

Posted Jan 12, 2015
Pros: The hotel location, staff, room size/layout, beach location & facilities
Cons: The mattress quality and sofa could be improved that would upgrade the quality of the stay. Both hurt my wife's back and she weighs only 120 lbs.
Location: Excellent location with diverse restaurants, grocery and Camana Bay (development of retail shops, residential & restaurants within walking distance
Our suite had an excellent view of the beach. The staff was courteous and offered assistance, if needed. The food was good with a choice of 3 on-site restaurants, all with inside or patio dining. On-site facility for easy access to all types of water activities (separate charge) such as snorkeling, scrubber diving, paddling, sailing, etc. The turtle farm had twice daily pickup at our resort. Very comfortable beach chairs with individual umbrellas. Unlimited availability of beach towels available to each guest. The hotel has a large binder of all restaurants for viewing to assist in dining selections. The island is very clean as well as the taxis. We arrived on Dec 30th, but unfortunately, we not told of free firework celebration at Camana Bay (within walking distance) or that we could watch it from our balcony or rooftop; only a flyer at hotel about $250/person celebration at Marriott Resort.

Great hotel for diving or water sports

Posted Dec 21, 2014
We stayed for 7 days. It was very convenient to have diving right on site. Close to the airport. Good happy hour at the Side Bar. Pools were a little cold but the beach was wonderful. Great weekend breakfast buffet.

Very good resort on a great beach

Posted Dec 14, 2014
Pros: The hotel has a great location: walking distance to very good restaurants, super market, liquor store, shopping. Buses at 2.50/person for longer dist
Cons: The best rooms appear to be those off the busy street but they lacked balconies. The rooms with BR's adjacent to the street were said to be noisy.
Location: 10-15 min walking distance Restaurants: Ragazzi, Laurens, Luca, Wok and Roll, Orthanique, Island Naturals, Jessie's Smoothies, Blue Cilantro, Agua
The Beach Suites staff are provide excellent customer service - we requested help: (1) with our safe, (2) correct issues with our cable TV & (3) call a restaurant on our behalf re an ingredient they used. We had attention to these matters in 5- 1 0 minutes!. They also had great attitudes throughout whether it was answering questions on where to eat from just saying Good Morning. The rooms were spacious with a separate living and dining area and also separate toilet/sink room. Confortable king size bed. The beach was a few steps away with what appears to be the best beach chairs on SMB. We walked the beach and noted other resorts including the Ritz, Marriott and the Westin - Beach Suites was very comparable and for the price, our preferred choice.
