Great hotel on beautiful beach...

Posted Mar 28, 2015
Pros: see above
Cons: get more beach umbrellas and have a more reasonable cost for eating on resort
Location: great location on beach..can walk to some restaurants and Camana Bay nearby
We stayed the last week in February and had a great time. The water is just gorgeous and we loved that we could use the stand up paddleboards and snorkel right from the beach. There were also water floats in the ocean to use as well as 2 open air game rooms with ping pong, foozball, pool and air hockey..all of these were great for our 2 teens. The chairs really are all crammed on the beach and it was a battle to get umbrellas. It is expensive to eat and drink in the hotel with an 18% gratuity tacked on to everything as well(even a coffee or bag of chips bought a la carte)...then adding the exchange rate makes it all a bit pricey....better to know this going in which we did not! The hotel is really nice and the staff could not have been more pleasant!! It was great that the resort had different things going on during the week for families(smores, family game night, stargazing, etc.) Bikes were somewhat useless as the area is way to busy to ride in. Our room was very spacious but full size beds(not queens) and did not appear to have been part of the renovation...balcony was mostly unusable for us. Overall enjoyed this Marriott and this island!

Perfect mini getaway

Posted Mar 17, 2015
My girlfriend and I were thrilled with the service and ammenities offered at the Mariott. We enjoyed the paddle boards and the bike rentals which was included in the $45 day fee. We really loved the scenery and aura of the Mariott and the location! We went to beaches further north and appreciated how the Marriott cleaned up the rocks and added the artificial reefs. The staff were friendly and very helpful and offered us great advice for the best snorkeling sites and restaurants. We did not have dinner at Veranda but we did enjoy the breakfast at Anchor & Den. The prices for food were pretty much similar to prices of food on the island. The only negative we experienced was the cleaning services. We would get back in our room around 2 PM and our room would not be cleaned yet I think more cleaning staff should be hired. We tried to leave early and during the morning to give the cleaning services the opportunity to clean our room but it was always done late. Also, when our room was cleaned they pretty much only made the bed and cleaned the bathroom. My girlfriend left the bathrobe on the night stand and magazines sort of messy on the small sidetable by the couch and it was exactly the way we found it when we came back. Small things such as straightening the magazines and hanging a bathrobe make all of the difference. From that we felt like our room wasn't that clean if the cleaning services didn't even bother to clean the most obvious messes in the room. But, overall a great stay

Very nice staff, beautiful beach and terrific food

Posted Mar 16, 2015
Pros: Plenty of chairs and umbrellas on the beach. Not too crowded... good for couples and families.
Location: Georgetown shopping is a 30 minute walk or a $11 cab ride. Snorkel trips leave right from the hotel.
The staff makes a point to speak to you constantly, much like a cruise

Excellent hotel

Posted Mar 16, 2015
I would recommend this hotel for everyone. Everything was fresh and clean and all the details were carefully considered all over the property. Very stylish hotel right on the Seven Mile beach. Food was excellent as well and there were plenty of restaurants to choose from. Stuff was extremely friendly and that seemed to be genuine. Even though we stayed during the high season and the hotel was fully booked and busy, that did not matter or and did not effect the service level in any way. I dare to say that I have stayed in several nice hotels all over the world, and this is definitely one of the best, or propably even the best I've stayed in.

Great service, food and amenities at a fair price

Posted Mar 15, 2015
This was probably our favorite Caribbean vacation as it pertains to hotel value and having fine dining options near by. Obviously this is Grand Cayman so it will not be as cheap as Mexico, Jamaica or the Dominican Republic but when staying on the island, this hotel offered us a customer service oriented staff that clicked and got it. They sweat the small stuff and provided a safe family friendly atmosphere while having great food on site as well as gourmet options nearby. I would come again and recommend friends to come here as well. Next visit I may request a bigger room as we only reserved a regular room which felt a little cramped for 4. Overall, great vacation! Thank you to the staff and managers!

Traveled with our three year old and had a fabulous trip. Driving on the opposite side of the road was a little more challenging than expected so would probably not rent a car next time.

Lovely hotel on the ocean.

Posted Mar 14, 2015
Pros: The convenience
Cons: We did not get a deluxe room, it was a standard room with no balcony, tiny patio and no view. We did not book directly with hotel.
Location: Very centrally located, only 3 minutes to Georgetown
Wonderful beach front with snorkeling out front. Staff was excellent
