“Great for divers!”

Plan to stay there next time we go back; it's great if you like to dive, tile floor in room was great (didn't worry about getting it wet); loved having locker near water for dive gear; rooms are spacious; not luxurious, but adequate; staff friendly and helpful

“Friendliest hotel on the island!”

The sunset house was one of the most hospitable places that I have ever stayed. By the time my wife and I left Grand Cayman we knew almost every employee on a first name basis. Great food at the Seaharvest resturant and sunset divers treated us as friends instead of clients. I would definately stay at this resort on my next vist. The only drawback was that there was about a 15 minute walk to town, but everything else was great.

“Overall good place”

Sunset House was a good place to stay. If you want luxury and "resort" type atmosphere...go somewhere else. All the staff and maid service there were extremely nice and curtious. The rooms are basic, but CLEAN, and they serve the purpose (sleeping/showers/etc.). We had no intentions of staying around our room long, so Sunset House worked out great for us. Pool was good, and the bar next door served great mudslides! All in all...comfortable, convienient, and clean.

“Relaxed, friendly & affordable”

This dive resort for and by divers is also friendly and welcoming to all. The courtyard room we had had new mahogany furniture, ceramic tiled floors, shower bath, tv, air conditioning, and balcony from which you could see the thatched roof "My Bar" and the sea beyond. They have a lovely swimming pool as well. It is a short 1 mile walk to the harbor in Georgetown or in the opposite direction to swimming at Smith Cove. This is a great alternative to the more expensive digs on Seven Mile Beach and the horrendous traffic jams there. Renting a room with kitchen facilities might be a good option for the future.

“Great for Couples”

Sunset House is great for snorkeling and diving with nice entry spots into the water. The walk to the shops and retaurants at 7 mile beach is short, but the lack of sidewalks makes it a bit dangerous. This is a fantastic place for couples and the crowd tends to be a bit more mature than other resorts with less kids. A great romantic place to go with a spouse or partner. Not really a party spot for spring break mayhem. Good staff and clean and well kept property.

“A great stay in a great place.”

The Hotel is old, but is kept in good condition. We had a couple of issues with daily cleaning, but when brought to attention of mgmt, the issues were addressed quickly and smartly. The Thatch Roof Dining Area/Bar is terrific! Good Drinks and great food! Terrific Atmosphere. We ate 1 breakfast in the restaurant. It was ok, and I thought a little expensive, so we got b-fasts elsewhere. My preference is included contl b-fast. Some of the reviews we read talked about staff issues, I did not notice slow service or poor service. The cleaning issues were due to system failure. The staff were always friendly and most helpful. No bugs in the Thatch Dining area!! there is no beach, but there is a fine swimming pool for those people. Snorkeling ( I cant dive) was available and it was a great experience. The grounds are kept in superb condition. hxatrbgu; nt in goo

“Scuba Diver's Paradise!”

This hotel is a perfect place for divers. Right on the water with shore dives right from the hotel. Dive shop with well maintained equip for rent on location. Helpful staff. Hotel not fancy but cleaner than a lot of 4 star places I've been to! The bar is a favorite of the local people and very fun place! Food is great and about half the price of food downtown. Try the steak sandwich! 1 mile easy walk to town if you wish to go there. The Sunset House restaurant has a patio on the ocean, most pleasant!
