Nice Hotel on beachPosted Mar 10, 2014
Pros: It was close to the beach on a more secluded side of the island. There wasn't much traffic with a couple of restaurants within walking distance.
Cons: The mattress needed replaced. When I book the next trip I would request a room with full ocean front view.
Location: Plenty of snorkeling, scuba diving, fishing, and dining.
The room layout was good with a view of the sunrise. The staff was great and would help in anyway possible. This is a great side of the island to be off the beaten path. I would recommend this hotel to a friend or relative.

Nice hotel on the beachPosted Mar 5, 2014
The hotel is reasonably priced for a clean, well appointed, beach front hotel with decent amenities. The staff is pleasant and nicely attentive. The resort is fairly simple, but clean and not cramped.

Nice comfortable hotel that is away from the crowdPosted Mar 2, 2014
Cons: The island could have a few more road signs so the main roads are identified..
Location: The location is away from Seven Mile Beach and the Cruise Ships which we liked very much. We had a car, so going anywhere was no problem.
We found the hotel very nice and comfortable. The staff was helpful, friendly and accomodating . The food was good. They had two ladies to help with directions and making reservations for the various activitys. These ladies were very good.

Beds are horrible!Posted Feb 24, 2014
Pros: The Pool
Cons: Staff attitude and the sleep experience.
Location: Rum Point, Edge Restaurant and Tukka
The staff seems like you are bothering them when you ask questions, not helpful at all. I had 2 kids and was trying to check in early, not accommodating but more importantly no alternatives were offered. As far as the guest rooms go.....do plan on sleeping here, or if you do, book a massage cause the mattresses are AWFUL!!!! My back still hurts from my sleeping there.

Had "B" unit minimally furnishedPosted Feb 24, 2014
Pros: Beach well tended, some staff very helpful, housekeeping efficient.
Cons: furnishings and cooking facilities
Location: Nearby places of note: Rum Point was beautiful and had hammocks, Kaibo Upstairs is fantastic on a tranquil bay, bioluminescent kayak memorable.
No stove to cook, no surface in bathroom to put anything on, terrible bar food, overpriced restaurant, need your own transportation.

A nice retreat from the West End bustlePosted Feb 23, 2014
Pros: Quiet and family friendly.
Cons: Don't need to nickel and dime you for every little thing, even WiFi isn't free.
The Reef Resort is great for anyone hoping to get away from the crowds and traffic around 7 Mile Beach and Georgetown. But you will do a lot of driving if you want to see all of the main attractions, so keep that in mind. If on the other hand you just want to hang close to the pool and the beach, then no problem. The beach there is beautiful but for the most part it's pretty rocky anywhere past ankle deep, and the winds can be pretty rough at times. But we still had a great time, with a comfortable and spacious condo that has everything you need.

Quiet side!Posted Feb 23, 2014
If you want to truly get away....and have the beach and watersports at your fingertips, this is the place! The Reef is on the northeast side of the island, we rented a car and enjoyed the 45 min. ride. The Reef is not ultra modern but very clean. Definitely get a first floor suite! The sand and glorious water awaits you!

Just an OK place away from GeorgetownPosted Feb 13, 2014
Pros: Oceanfront and quiet area
Cons: The food. Breakfast was awful. Coffee in paper cups! (No coffee in the lobby either). Only ate dinner there twice. Pretty much cheap diner fare.
Location: Loved the location. Although definitely need a car if you want to leave to have dinner or to a beach you can swim at.
This could be a super nice place, but they're missing things that could be easily corrected. You'd think they would want to impress visitors to buy in. We did not attend their promotion because we won't be going back. How about an ice bucket in the room? How about a TV remote that works? How about a ceiling fan that works? How about a screen door on the slider? There's no swimming at this beach either. We went in the car everyday to Rum Point beach or almost an hour away to Seven Mile Beach.

Perfect Hotel away from Seven Mile Tourist Trap!Posted Feb 10, 2014
Pros: Very relaxed, no-rules chill attitude.
Cons: Cheaper snorkeling rentals?
Location: Much more secluded - 30+ min drive from Georgetown. Nice off the beaten path beaches nearby.
The hotel was a lot nicer than we thought it was going to be. Great beach right out front, grocery/liquor store next door, volleyball, tennis, watersports, etc! The rooms were HUGE and very clean. Nice towel exchange policy to always have a clean towel, bar at the hotel is nice, free beach chairs and shade and the snorkeling around the docks is fun with huge fish! They plan many excursions for you and can set up anything you'd like. There doesn't seem to be many rules at the place...kind of go as you please / do what you want which was very nice. There were families, young mid20s and 60+ all around. The facility was pretty quiet the whole time, but no one cared if we played our music when we drank some. I would highly recommend this location, but also highly recommend a rental car....this will allow you to visit near by restaurants and off the beaten path spots!

Superb resortPosted Feb 10, 2014
Pros: Almost everything.
Cons: I hear the kitchen appliances are being upgraded a few rooms at a time. This is a good thing and a tiny bit overdue.
Location: Rum point beach browsing. Deep sea fishing (we caught a wahoo). Snorkeling. Mastic Trail (superb! Orchid lovers check it out). Botanical park.
I can't say enough positive things about The Reef. But let me try. First, the location. If you want hustle, bustle, bikinis and speedos, don't stay at The Reef Resort. The Reef is about real calm. From the moment you arrive, the pace is slow. It's isolated--which is perfect for us. Snorkeling is superb. Water sports are excellent. All the amenities: full kitchen in the suites; basics in the studios. The Rusty Pelican bar and the associated restaurant (Pelican something) are really very good--especially the cheerful, casual bar atmosphere, outside in the sun. Concierges are there to make your stay amazing. Easy driving distance to some of the best snorkeling and diving in the world.
