“Westin - Grand Cayman - Excellent vacation”

Stayed a week just before and after Christmas 2011. Hotel was in very good shape, with improvements from last year's stay, including: the pool was entirely redone, the lobby had polished stone floor throughout, and smaller details/maintenance were attended to. I have to give a big shout-out to two of the outside pool/beach servers. Diane and Maya really made the trip special for our family. They were extremely attentive throughout the day by the pool on the beach. Although it may look like a dream job, they are not lounging on the beach all day like the guests of the hotel. I have experienced the entire spectrum of service on vacations over the last 25 years, and give the Westin at Grand Cayman very high marks for customer service throughout our stay. All staff we interacted with had a positive attitude, and Diane and Maya were the best I have ever seen. We will be back next year.

“Wish I was there right now!”

The location, 7 mile beach, is perfect. The guest density on the beach is 1/10 that at the adjacent Ritz-Carlton, permitting extraordinarily generous personal space, but at the Ritz, beach goers are as close as the tables in a typical French bistro. There are numerous large shade trees on most of the beach which allows for sun or full shade. The beach faces due west for daily romantic sunsets, The staff/management are extraordinarily polite and helpful when dealt with calmly and respectfully. The rooms are thoroughly clean and well cleaned daily. This is not a new hotel, and as expected, there are some mild signs of wear and tear, e.g., the hallway and room carpets, some furniture hardware, etc., but only the most obsessive will allow this to distract from what you really went to the Caymans for, i.e., spectacular weather, glorious beaches with warm relatively calm waters, excellent tourist and water sports activities, and many restaurants with Manhattan NYC quality food. There are many superb restaurants of various cuisines, many overlooking the water, with well prepared fish widely available. Dinner for 2, with appetizer, main course, dessert and one $50 bottle of wine averaged 250 at the best establishments. Much less expensive fare at the level of a Fridays is also widely available. Taxis are expensive. The islands buses(vans) cost 1/4 of the average taxi ride, and will get you almost anywhere. Learn how to use them. Taxi from airport is $25. Wi-fi worked poorly.

“I'm sold on the Westin”

Me and a friend stayed during low season so we got lots of attention. Immediately we were greeted at the door with oj and the most friendly staff. I can not say enough about how nice the staff and bartenders were!!!!!!!!!! The bartenders were very helpful about where to go at night. I've never stayed at a resort before where they were so kind. The beds were super comfortable which made us not wanna get up in the morning. Our view and the pool were outstanding. How can you not love a swim-up bar! The cocktail waitresses even served you drinks in the ocean...how great is that. For affordable meals go right across the street and there are like 3 places you can eat including great sushi restaurant and a low-key cuban cigar bar. went on the sting ray city outing with the company at the hotel. If your going to do this do it in the beginning b/c when we went it was near the end of our trip and there was a storm soon after being out in the water and had to leave and reschedule but by then we already had other plans and lost our money. And beware...the instant you get in the stingrays are on you and you don't have much time to prep. yourself for it but still kinda fun. Loved the hotel. If i ever go again i will stay there.

“Fabulous Location, Great Service, Nice Facilities”

I always stay here because it is right in the middle of 7 mile beach, so great for swims and walks along the beach. Every hotel employee was very helpful and upbeat. Great property.

“Wonderful Island, wonderful hotel!”

We very much enjoyed our stay at the Westin. The hotel is very nice and casual/comfortable at the same time. Service (for rooms) can be a bit slow at times but we came to realize that "Cayman time" is different than the hectic scheduling we're used to! The room was fine- nothing fancy but clean and easy. Bathroom was functional but not exactly what you'd expect for the $. But, it had everything you needed! Hotel staff was extremely friendly and courteous. The island itself is very safe and "family-friendly".

“Best location on Seven Mile Beach for the price”

The Westin is located on the best part of Seven Mile Beach in the Caymans. For the price it was a great place to stay. The Heavenly beds are the best part of the hotel room. The staff was great and attended to all our needs. The only negative comment we have is the swim up bar smelled like an old college bar. Definitely could be cleaned and updated. But other than that we loved staying at the Westin and would do it again in a heartbeat.

“Great hotel”

I thought this hotel was great. It is entirely on the beach, unlike some other fine hotels in the 7 mile area. It has a great pool. The staff was extremely friendly and offered good service. The only errors during our stay were made by housekeeping. They were corrected when we raised the issues.

“Beautiful setting, nice resort”

The overall look of the Westen Casuarina is beautiful, very lush and tropical with nicely maintained landscaping and plants. The pool area is a treat for the eyes, especially with the view of 7-mile beach in the background. I found the staff helpful and friendly, especially the concierge who made our dinner reservations for us. I did not have the opportunity to enjoy the Hibiscus spa, but know it has received excellent reviews. The room with comfortable with the added surprise of exercise exquipment and several books on the subject to read and use. I would definitely recommend this hotel to someone visiting Grand Cayman.

“Great Service”

I have been to this hotel three times. Located on 7 Mile Beach, it is in a great location. The beach is beautiful and clean, the pool area is very nice with two hot tubs, pool bar, etc. The lobby is also very pretty. But the best part about this hotel is the service. From the door men to the front desk, from the concierge to the manager, from the restaurant staff to the Kids' Club staff, everyone seems truly interested in helping and responding to your needs. I travel with my two children, ages 5 & 7 (they were 3 & 5 the last time we went, and almost 2 and 4 the time before that), and the hotel staff is so nice to them, very friendly and accomodating. If there was any issue, staff quickly rectified it and then some. The food is generally good, nothing too special, although their Sunday brunch is pretty impressive. The hotel could use a few improvements, like getting rid of some of their older beach towels, replacing broken beach lounge chairs, some fresh paint in places or touch-ups, but these are small issues. The super treatment we get there far outweighs any minor upkeep/improvements issues.
