Incredible, laid-back paradise!

Posted May 21, 2015
Pros: Everything- the beach, the casual island ambiance, the comfortable bed, the views, the service- everyone is so friendly and helpful.
Cons: Really, nothing. There is not a single thing that hasn't been top notch.
Location: Location is THE BEST! quiet and relaxing. We love that there is a supermarket, liquor store and italian restaurant right across the street.
We are thrilled to have found this hotel after reading other reviews. We were initially staying on 7 mile beach and were very disappointed with the setting. We wanted to be in a more private area with a gorgeous beach and some charm. I looked into the Rtiz and the Westin and neither seemed to offer anything different that what we had at the Grand Cayman Beach Suites. If anything they were even busier! And all the hotels were right off of the loud road. So we found the Wyndham Reef Resort and liked how the reviews said it was relaxing, beautiful and on the quiet side of the island. We could not be happier with this find! the rooms are very comfortable - the bedding is fresh and luxurious and they moved us to a 3rd floor room with stunning ocean views that would have cost of $800 a night at another resort. The pools here are small but lovely and the beach is paradise. You can snorkel right off shore. We are pleasantly surprised that the food at the outside bar was excellent. The bar is open-air and has a great ambiance and dinner can be had in the sand under palapas. the service is excellent around the whole hotel. I can't say enough about how wonderful this place is. It's very casual so if you want something more upscale, this is probably not the place. We typically stay at high end pricey resorts and don't mind paying if the setting is fabulous. But I can say that when we come back to Grand Cayman we will stay here again and we can't wait to return!

A Caribbean Jewel

Posted May 15, 2015
Pros: The location and smaller size of this resort makes it a perfect place to relax and unwind, away from the crowds and noise on the west side.
Location: Book the Sunrise Stingray City Tour with White Sand Watersports and then spend the rest of the day at Rum Point. You will be glad you did!
Every room has an unobstructed view of the beach and the water. How AWESOME is that?! We had a Deluxe studio on the third (top) floor. Each morning we would brew a pot of coffee and sit on the balcony and plan our day as the sun rose over the Caribbean. The East End is really laidback being on the opposite side of the island from Seven Mile Beach. No cruise ship crowds, no traffic, no hurries, no worries. Most of the things we wanted to do or see were only minutes away and with a rental car we were able to take it all in at our leisure. The Reef staff were very accommodating and pleasant (especially the crew at the Rusty Pelican beach bar). The grounds were very well kept and maintained creating a very pleasant and relaxing space to just hang out. The beach is totally AWESOME. We snorkeled for hours right out in front of the resort.

Nice hotel close to the beach

Posted May 5, 2015
Pros: Location
Cons: proper locks on patio doors, attention to detail in room cleanliness
Location: Since it is a small island everything is in close proximity, I liked being away from the more tourist areas.
The only disappointing items were: I paid for all inclusive but didn't receive Rooms were not as clean as i expected them to be, dust & debris behind the doors, I liked the location right on the beach, not too many areas to swim, a lot of rocks to walk over in the water.

Great place .....this is my 5th time staying here

Posted May 4, 2015
Pros: Awesome beachfront, great staff, very quiet location.
Cons: Better housekeeping .....always been great in the past, so not sure what happened this time.
Location: Over the Edge is a great restaurant on Noorth Side. Definitely recommend Stingray City and the Turtle Farm.....DO NOT do Pirates Cave.
Had a wonderful time as always! Great new front desk area with change to Wyndham. Was disappointed in the cleanliness this time though.....grounds were not kept as clean as in the past and housekeeping was minimal. Also, was not reminded about the Subway that was attached to the hotel when we missed the breakfast menu.

Location: The location is far away from activities, not much to do and places to eat.
The hotel was average, they had a nice dinner show with band playing.

Great stay!

A bit expensive with room rates and generally for food but the room was very clean, well designed and that is even before a promised makeover now that the Reef is under new management. Common areas like the lobby, restrooms, beach front and pool were very attractive and inviting. Staff a pleasure.
