Nice stay, reasonable price.

Posted Aug 13, 2013
Pros: Price and location.
Cons: Hot tub, h/vac system in the room.
Location: Southern part of Grand Forks. Shopping malls and eating establishments in walking distance. Short drive to business center.
Breakfast was good, a bit crowded, but if not leaving on a deadline no problem. Cooling system in the room was a bit dated (no thermostat on the wall) but worked well. Too bad the hot tub was in repair, but maintenance must be done. Pool was great, excellent exercise room, the sauna was blazing hot almost too much. Nice area, hotel was only a 15 minute drive from the wedding we attended and less than 1/2 the price of the hotel they had reserved. Very enjoyable weekend. Thanks

Very Uncomfortable

Posted May 21, 2013
Pros: The guys at the front desk were very personable
Cons: The bed very uncomfortable
Location: Very good location
The beds were very uncomfortable. Did not sleep all night. The mattress was very very hard, you can feel the spring. Should also have a duvet that when you get in bed, you can roll up in and be comfortable. Those brown covers does not do it. When you travel, that is one of the most important thing. To have a good night sleep. Also, the pillows were very low on the bed and small that I got up with neck pains. The breakfast was okay. There was no fresh fruits for breakfast. Lots of carb, but no protein.

OK stay!

Posted Apr 29, 2013
Pros: Good size room.
Cons: Decor
Location: Perfect for shoppers!
Staff was super friendly!! Room's decor was a little dated but great layout. Definitely older building, lots of creaks & weird noises. Room was very clean at general glance but discovered food and flower petals under bed & couch. Would still stay there again.

Clean and good value.

The rooms here were pretty good , good value, however the shower wasn't quite as good. It took quite a while for the water to warm up to afford a comfortable temperature. The sound proofing is not quite as good in this hotel , as we could hear every spoken word of the people in the room next to us. The continental breakfast is simple but fairly good and can accommodate large numbers of people. The pool area is clean and nice, however it seems anytime I have stayed at this location, the hot tub is either shut down or not working properly. All in all a good value for the proximity of shopping, restaurants and fairly comfortable. Would recommend it to others

Badly in need of renovations

Posted Mar 10, 2013
Pros: Staff was friendly and helpful
Cons: Heat, humidity, pool smell and run down condition.
Location: Awsome location. Could walk to several restaurants and close to Columbia Mall
The staff was friendly and very helpful. You could feel the heat in the front lobby and it just got worse as you went up to the rooms. We thought maybe the halls were kept warm for the kids coming and going from the pool but our room was so hot we put the air conditioning on and opened the window. The temp outside was about -10C. We went out for dinner and when we came back the room had not cooled off at all. This made sleeping very uncomfortable. The hotel itself is desperately in need of an upgrade. The front desk told us that renovations were to start in a couple of months. Our room was clean but very outdated. The toilet wouldn't stop running and i think the floors were clean but the grouting was so dirty it made me wear my shoes anytime my feet touched the floor. Paint and wallpaper were peeling and anything that was metal had rust on it from the humidity from the pool. This was just over a hundred dollars a nite and if i could have gone somewhere else i would have. I will check out the renos in the future but will not go back unless something is done about the heat and humidity. Imagine how bad it would be in the hot summer!

Overall would stay there again!

Posted Dec 4, 2012
Pros: The size of the room!
Cons: The hot tub!
Location: Close to all the major stores
The staff was great and quick to resolve a problem we had when we first checked in. The rooms could be cleaner as there was black hair in the bathroom floor and the carpet and couch could use a shampoo! The hottub water was barely over the jets but the pool was great> Could use more chairs in the pool area! Overall would stay there again! Location was great!
