Walked into what could have been a very nice room but the carpets hadn't been vacuumed...hall carpets where just yucky....it was really the carpets that where the biggest let down

Dark

Posted Aug 8, 2014
Pros: It's a room to sleep in.
Cons: lighting, floors, outside doors.
Location: close to campus.
The halls where dark and the floors where stained. The rug in the room had stains all over, don't take your shoes off.

The place needs some seriuos renovation. Unclean pool area and carpeting. Loud animals(dogs), don't belong in a hotel. The room was ok but unclean in some areas. Not a presentable hotel.

It's gone downhill

Posted Jul 21, 2014
Pros: I like the bed. They give you four big fat pillows on each bed and they don't reuse their comforters.
Cons: The cleanliness of the room was poor.
Location: The hotel bar used to have these food and drink specials which we loved. But this time we went down to check them out and they didn't have them. Boo!
We always stay at the Ramada when we come to shop for the weekend. We know it's not the greatest hotel because it's old and ugly and outdated but we keep coming back because it's what we know. We also reason that it's not that bad so an ugly room doesn't matter since we're in town to do some shopping. However, we might begin to stay at another hotel after my last stay. We arrived for check in and they allowed us to check in early, which was great. The best part of the rooms are the beds because they are nice and comfortable. They also don't have those gross bedspreads that keep getting reused every time and never get changed. They change everything on the bed except the decorative cloth on the end. Each bed also has four big fat pillows which I really liked. But the room itself wasn't very clean. It appeared to be clean but when we looked around we found an oily smear on the nightstand and huge crumbs behind it. And the only reason we were looking behind the nightstand was because every light in the room had been unplugged and we had to go around and plug them all back in ourselves, so we were looking for an outlet. The oily smear on the nightstand grossed me out so then we wiped the room down ourselves (door handles, remote, etc.). This hotel used to be nicer and is on the decline. It's safe to stay here if you want a cheap hotel but only when the rate is actually cheap.

Overall very hospitable and helpful.

A good place to stay, although it's old in appearance and could use a better laundry facility. Roof leaks and very musty in the pool area. The hotel is due for a makeover.

Not too bad but lots of room for improvements.

Pros: The lobby and pool very nice. The lounge was good, the bartender was super good and very friendly. We enjoyed our time there. Great soap and mouthwash
Cons: The rooms need updating. The windows were filthy and old. Carpets just plain scary.
Location: Location a limitless far from mall area but just off freeway so still very easy to get there so not a big deal.
The lobby and pool area looked really nice when we checked in. The room was outdated and the carpets made me afraid to take my shoes off. We baked in the room because the humidity levels were so high from the pool and we weren't in a room off of the pool. The windows were old and the screen was broken so leaving the window open overnight wasn't safe because we were ground level. I just wasn't impressed.

Owners need to make renovation a "priority"!

Posted May 19, 2014 on Hotels.com
Hotel owners need to make renovation a "priority". Attention to detail begins outside (i.e. parking lot needs periodic sweeping, shrubs & landscaping needs to be maintained, front entrance needs to be kept clean). Need to vacuum under coffee table in lobby, need to clean light covers on lobby fixtures, ceiling tile on 2nd floor foyer needs to be replaced before it falls down on someone, hot tub was only "lukewarm", pool was closed down. Need to keep all door glass clean & without smudges or hand prints. For some reason the bathroom floor in room 202 was always very warm. Breakfast staff was excellent. Check-in was very easy...front desk staff very cordial.

Not what I expected for a Ramada

Posted May 19, 2014
Cons: In dire need of updates. Hotel was dark and drab, dirty and the rooms are falling apart.
Location: Near UND, Alerus Center, many parks
Hotel was is poor repair, pool area was kind of gross and not well kept. Pool was closed for most of our stay due to a "chemical imbalance". Staff was not helpful, and our room was also in poor repair and while it is not the worst hotel we have ever stayed in, it was not worth what we paid. Now I know why it was the only hotel in Grand Forks that had any available rooms for the weekend we were in town. I will not stay here ever again, and I will think twice before staying at another Ramada if I have to risk getting a hotel like this.
