Over all stay.

Posted Oct 10, 2014
Pros: Location
Cons: Update over all appearence inside and out.
Hotel was average. I was not crazy about the way it is built. I prefer an indoor central hall, and felt it could use some updating. Over all the hotel was not bad I would stay again.

Thank you for staying at Midtown and posting a review. I can understand your comments regarding the layout of the hotel. Due to the stages the property was built in, it can be a bit of a maze. We hope to see you again the next time you travel to Grand Island. Best regards, Wayne Rice, Guest Services Manager

Updated hotel near State Fair grounds

Posted Oct 5, 2014
Cons: Better soundproofing and more competitive pricing.
Location: Very close to the state fair grounds and Heartland Events Center
This hotel is in excellent condition, with updated facilities and nice accommodations. We loved the spacious hot tub, and there is a really cute little 5 hole mini golf course near the indoor pool. However, the hotel is very large so it's a little hard to find your way around, and the rooms are not soundproofed at all - you can hear everything that is said and done next door, in the hallway, outside the building, etc. The price was also pretty high for the area. We would stay here again!

Thank you for staying with us at Midtown! I am glad you enjoyed staying with us. I understand your comments regarding the layout of the hotel and it can be a bit of a maze getting around. Unfortunately due to the phases the hotel was built in and the numbering layout used at the time, it can be a bit confusing. I am very sorry you were disturbed by noise from neighboring rooms and halls. We have asked all of our staff to pay close attention to their voice levels when they are out and about the hotel and also to listen for other noise that may disrupt the comfort of our guests. Thank you for staying with us and we hope to see you again the next time you travel to Grand Island. Best regards, Wayne Rice, Guest Services Manager

OK for a night.

Posted Sep 11, 2014
Pros: Aaahhhhh the kids enjoyed the pool, it was heated.
Cons: Cleaning staff need to be more professional, rooms have mould above very dirty air conditioners, which are so noisy my children couldn't sleep.
Location: Near a Walmart.
If you're only staying one night you're good, but more than that, no way. We actually left one night early, forfeiting the money bec we didn't want to be there anymore. The hotel staff are nice, but the cleaning staff are extremely loud and noisy, they sounded like a bunch of birds chattering non stop. My biggest complaint, when the cleaning women came to my room, I couldn't understand her at all, she had to pretty much sign language it to me, BUT they had a small child with them that was trying to look in my room. What the heck! !!! Were they seriously taking that child with them in rooms? The pool is nice, but very strong chlorine, restaurant serves good food but when we got home they had charged us twice and both charges were different-figure that one out! !!!

"G", We are so glad your family enjoyed the pool and received the professional courtesy all guests deserve from our staff. The air conditioners in our rooms are professionally cleaned and should not have any mold or look in disrepair, we would have greatly appreciated this being brought to our attention and we would have moved you immediately to a different room and corrected the deficiency. Regarding the small child, I do not know why they were standing by our housekeeping staff. We maintain a very professional work place and it is not acceptable for children to ever accompany staff while on duty. We would encourage you to stay at our property again in the future and expect a clean quality room and staff.

Good pool and hot tub area with miniature golf and a pool table. I wish they had a shower near the pool, as I had to shower in the room and walk quite a way to the pool. Breakfast is an additional charge, but certainly comparable to what you would get at a local restaurant. We were surprised they had two standard-sized beds. It was fine as they were probably trying to save space as the room had a TV lounge type chair on the same wall as the two beds.

We had a great experience staying at this hotel, mainly because of pool, hot tub and mini golf. We travel through Nebraska every summer and wish we would have found this hotel before. But we will be staying at this hotel from now on.
