Last minute biking tripPosted Aug 18, 2014
Pros: Convenience to the great bike trails.
Cons: Clean the carpet
Location: Best part of the experience. Short drive to downtown Fruita and easy access to the Kokopelli Trail system.
Decided to make a last minute trip (stayed that same evening) to bike in Fruita, so I went online to find a decent rate for an individual traveler. No need for luxury - just a clean, comfortable bed. Found the best rate at the Fruita Super 8 on Expedia, and booked it. The hotel is located in the highway exit area - very convenient for coming and going. Check in process was smooth - was told I had been blocked in a Disabled Access King Room - this was not a problem for me. Desk agent also informed me the room was on the shady side of the hotel that early evening (outside temp was in the low 90's). My Ground floor room was spacious and had all the basic needs for a quick overnight stay. Lights worked, air conditioner (baseboard type unit) worked nicely, although it was loud enough that I turned it off before sleeping). Bathroom was clean - I did not use the shower so can't comment on water pressure, hot water, etc. As a habit, even in nice hotels, I usually pull off the top, cover and use only sheets. Sheets and pillows were clean and smelled clean. My only suggestion to improve the experience would be for the hotel to spend the money to get the carpets cleaned more regularly. Although there were no noticeable stains - it looked dirty. Overall - a fine place to pass one night in order to be close to the bike trails. I did not try the lobby breakfast when I left.

Pros: It was cheap, and close to the freeway.
Bananas at breakfast squished at the slightest touch.

Close to my destinationPosted Jun 18, 2014
The pool was nice. We stayed 3 nights. We left at 8am to go visit family and wouldn't be back till10 at night. The front desk would call and say the lady below us called and complained we were to loud because we were waking up her sleeping dog. The front desk called 3 different times. I took my phone off the hook. My kids weren't loud.

Best Hotel for Mt BikersPosted Jun 17, 2014 on Hotels.com
Great full breakfast and a working hose to clean your bike. Huge plus that they will let you take your bikes into your room if you don't feel comfortable leaving them outside. We love staying there.

I was heading east and at least wanted to make it out of Utah... just looking for a place to stay. This was a convenient little place just past the border, friendly staff and ez access to whatever you might need.

Pet friendly, but call ahead and let them know you are traveling with a pet. Otherwise they may not have a pet accomodating room available.
