The hotel was clean and quiet, our two chief needs. The desk staff members were not friendly or even particularly courteous. That was disappointing. Breakfast was fine and we especially appreciated the availability of tea and coffee thoughout the day. The pool was larger than expected. The view of Lake Superior was a bonus.

Property was well maintained. Unfortunately the hot tub wasn’t hot. Possibly due to it being refilled recently or at least that’s what I attributed it to. The TV remote control wouldn’t connect to the TV and had the error message “The remote control has not been programmed to control this TV. Please call the front desk”. Upon speaking with the front desk clerk she stated she wasn’t able to help me, as she didn’t know what to do. I tried to manually operate the tv but the only button was the power button. No volume or channel buttons. I know this wasn’t the end of the world. Just annoying when you pay for such amenities. The wall heating unit only worked intermittently so my room was cold during the night no matter how high I set the thermostat. It just blew cold air.

Wow wee, what a time. I've been here a time or two and this place slaps. The breakfast is banging, but if it's not what your looking for head on out down the road and you've got some more options. When staying here your swept away into a good time like the Gails of November. The rooms are always clean and the linens are fresh like the misty air in which you're immersed in by the lake and beautiful trees around you. If your worried about activities to do in the area, don't sweat. You'll find something to do eventually. Hey, do yourself a favor and stay here.

A fire pit with supplied wood and chairs. Although it needed to be shoveled out next time I will bring a shovel. Amazing amenity for a hotel to have that. The hot tub,sauna, pool very nice!… and a pool patio over looking Lake Superior! Stellar! Leaving boiled eggs and yogurt for guest and other goodies over night was so nice to have that option. Awesome lobby with fireplace and they dimmed the lights for us to enjoy the evening playing games supplied in lobby!

No one cleans up after their pets so the area around fire pit is disgusting. This is not the hotels doing but until they find a way to enforce the owners of the said pets to clean up an employee is going to need to. I by the way had a dog and did clean up after her.

The check in and check out process was excellent and the room was very clean and comfy. Would definitely stay here again. We stayed here because of the location to great hiking at the state parks.

Love the spacious and comfortable rooms and the amenities of this location. A steam sauna is a big plus (along with the pool and hottub). Rooms are nicely appointed with comfortable beds. My favourite spot on the north shore to stay.

Couldn't figure out all the lights, very busy, average cleanliness, nice staff and great pool. Out jacuzzi leaked into the room beneath us so we turned that off. Electrical setup was questionable. Otherwise breakfast was good and the family had a nice time.
