pluses and minuses

Posted Jun 23, 2015
Pros: Location worked for us.
Cons: Noise level. Shower head.
Location: Meijer Gardens. East Grand Rapids area.
Location of this hotel is great for visiting Meijer Gardens. Our room was spartan, but OK. Noise from the room next door kept us awake. When that was resolved our smoke alarm went off, shrieking and blinking. The main desk said it was "just a malfunction" but it was hard not to worry after that. Country Inn would not be my choice for another stay.

Comfortable room. We needed a good nights rest after being on the road all day. The room was quiet and the bed was great. We will stay here again on our next trip back to the area.

Great locations; Poor amenities

Posted Apr 6, 2015
Pros: I like the pool, although small and pack with birthday party children. No supervision by hotel staff. The place appeared clean and parking was easy.
Cons: Enhance the quality of the product you are supplying to the public.
Location: Lots of restaurants and shopping close by. Easy on / off freeway.
This hotel is in a great location; excellent location for East Grand Rapids. However, the amenities are cheap and disappointing. Skip the breakfast bar. I noticed many families throwing the majority of the food out. The toasters would not toast any type of bread even when set on higher temp. Took over 8 minutes to have a lightly toasted slice of bread. My room had one .25 oz Shampoo and Conditioner hardly enough for one much less a family. A small square bar of soap was a poor replacement for body wash. The bedding on a king size xtra firm bed was limited to a sheet and thin blanket (no comforter). Pillows were "3/4" size. Michigan in April is not warm. On my floor, a birthday party event kept us up because the hallway became a social area for children running up the hall. Staff was indifferent and blame corp policies. Next time I will try the place across the street. At premium pricing, I expect more for my buck.

Dear Cindy, We were sorry to hear you were not satisfied with your stay. The comforter on the bed under the duvet, and as for our amenities it would have been our pleasure to bring you more if needed. All of our amenities follow the standard set by Country Inns and Suites, we hope that you will consider us next time your in town. We are not aware of any other hotels across the street from us.

Very comfortable room, very clean, and good breakfast choices. Would definitely stay here again. Only suggestion would be to keep the pool a little warmer in the winter time :)

The hotel was beautiful. Upon entering, the staff was friendly. When I requested paper plates for some pizza we ordered, the man at the front desk(matt) made a comment, "let me guess, they didn't give you paper plates" and then instead of giving us a bunch of plates, he needed to know Exactly how many I needed. he just made things difficult when they didn't need to be. This hotel offers free breakfast and THE BREAKFAST WAS TERRIBLE!!!!! Probably one of the worst things i've ever eaten. Plan on eating somewhere else. This hotel looked nice, but over priced and shouldn't offer breakfast if it's not going to taste half way decent. The cleaning staff was friendly and accommodating to our needs and other than Matt, the rest of the staff was very friendly. The bed, for me, wasn't that great. I've definitely slept on better. I had back pain every night. Probably wouldn't stay at this hotel again.

Dear Peter V, We were sorry to hear about your breakfast experience at our hotel. I am also sorry if I frustrated you asking how many paper plates were needed. We did have a limited amount left that day and that is the only reason I asked, I did not mean to make it difficult. As for the mattress situation they are still fairly new and in good shape, we were sorry to hear it wasn't comfortable to you.
