Nice quiet stay with good breakfast
Posted Jan 7, 2013
Nice large breakfast area and lots of choices. We spent three nights there and it was quiet and comfortable. The hotel is about 4 miles from downtown and is out in an area where there isn't much else. That was the major drawback.

Pros: Friendly staff
Cons: Highway noise
Location: Near Fred Meijer Gardens
What a pleasant surprise, a hotel that was clean, friendly, easy to access! Also, they had one of the best breakfast buffets that I have ever experienced.

Nice rooms, helpful staff, and great price! If you don't want to pay $200-300 per night to stay in downtown Grand Rapids, this is your hotel!

This is an excellent place to stay.

Pros: Cleanliness and the quality of the room's appointments.
Location: It's centrally located to just about everything in Grand Rapids.
We visit Grand Rapids frequently and this may be the nicest hotel in the area. The room was "white-glove test"-clean. I had a problem with operating the thermostat; within five minutes of my contact with the front desk, a maintenance man came to the room to show me how to set the room temperature. The doors (room exterior, bathroom and closet) are heavy and soundproof (not that you need a soundproof closet door...!). Anyway, having a refrigerator and a microwave in the room was delightful. The bed was extremely comfortable and reminded me of posh California hotels I've stayed in. The complimentary breakfast was excellent; the fresh fruit was a very nice touch! We'll definitely stay here again.

Don't Look Under the Bed
Posted Jan 27, 2012
Pros: The friendly staff.
Cons: Cleanliness.
Location: Close to local attractions.
The room, upon arrival, was fine. The staff was exceptionally friendly. However, as we settled in we found two things wrong. First, one of the beds was off of the bed frame, so one of our guests kicked it and injured herself. Secondly, when we were checking under the bed before we left, we found an assortment of water bottles, Cheerios, and even a men's sweater and boxers (we were all females in the room.) It was very disappointing to pay for a "nicer" hotel stay and have these details overlooked.
